How's this for fixing the O

Resign Ryan Kalil.

Resign DeAngelo Williams.

Sign Logan Mankins.

Draft AJ Green #1.

Trade into the 2nd round and nab Kyle Rudolph.

Now the problem here would be QB. Give Clausen another chance? Resign Matt Moore? Go out and sign a FA QB? Draft a QB #1 and sign a FA WR instead?

Pipe dream, i know. But what are your thoughts?

Re-sign Moore for insurance, pick-up VY and let them battle it out for a starter position. Clausen won't likely emerge victorious, so it would be between Moore and Young for starter.

I really don't want to trade future picks, it's obviously not working for us and we keep doing it year after year.

in fact I'd rather trade our current 3rd rounder for a future 2nd like NE did to us.

Neither do I. But with Richardson's recent comments of keeping up with the league offensively...AJ Green and Kyle Rudolph can give us two inexpensive (well not that inexpensive in Green's case), young playmakers who can be a vital part of our offense for years to come.

AJ Green 6'4" 212lbs

Kyle Rudolph 6'6" 265lbs

I'm willing to wait a season or two for our next coaching staff to unfug Clausen. It'll take at least that long to get all the Fox, Davidson and Rip out of him. Hopefully he'll be worth the wait. I honestly see him having a decent career, but nothing spectacular. Think somewhere between Jake Delhomme and Mark Brunell.

Until then, we need a vet. Take a chance on McNabb. Unsure about Moore - I'd like to keep him, but I don't think he has anything else to contribute to the franchise. I think trading Pike could land a late round pick..... maybe? But we need another young, competent QB just in case I'm being too optimistic on Clausen. Don't waste a #1 on a WR. Trade down for a mid-first and a second, if possible. Depending on who is available, use 1st on DT. 2nd on LG. Move Gross back to right tackle. Find temp fix for left tackle in FA. Put Otah on notice.

McNabb and Clausen split snaps in TC. McNabb wins, but injury is inevitable. Keep Clausen ready.

NO, NO, NO! I swear to God I will pull for the Eagles that year he plays for us.

I'm not a big supporter of WR #1. But Green is definately a rare talent that doesn't come around often. We need to come to grips that Smitty does not want to be a #1 anymore and will start to decline. Green is capable of fulfilling the #1 role in the future. We suck at drafting WRs and Elite WRs rarely hit the market.

    • Agreed.  Unless a DE is a Julius Peppers type, it takes a couple of years to really develope.  I am hoping we can get one to go with Prince and Scourton.  Or another Interior Dlineman might work as well.
    • Great work Dan. This is the first time in a long time heading into day 1 of the draft that I don’t care which way we go.
    • I don't think it's about Bryce's ego. I think it's about Tepper's. Bryce was Tepper's draft pick. Everything that's been done has been to protect the image.  New HC with a shiny contract fired after he loses interest immediately after he supposedly drafted his guy. He can't make an offense for him because he's the QB that fits his style of offense. Bryce's rookie season is one of the worst in history. It was obvious he wasn't ready. He was named starter without any real camp competition. No real preseason reps. Coach keeps playing him despite terrible play.  A new coach and GM are hired on the condition that Bryce is the guy. No searching for a new QB. It's Bryce or else.  Bryce is benched year 2 for multiple games, replaced by Dalton who stunk it up proving he's washed up, then Bryce comes back in after Dalton injures his thumb and finishes the season. Dalton's contract is up, plenty of younger, higher upside FAs available. Dalton is brought back 2 years guaranteed as a "mentor". Jack Plummer, so bad in 24', brought back to camp in 25' and lo and behold, he's still terrible and has no business being on a field.  Other QBs brought in, the most recognizable being Hooker. All those brought in so bad even the PS can't hold them.  And now, after 3 years of bottom tier QB performance, with Dan saying we need to improve our QB room, we bring in a QB that's not passed for over 2500 yards in either of his 2 seasons as a starter, before he's benched and sent to the life of being a backup.  The common denominator in all of this is there's never been any real competition here, even when it was justified. After last year, it's debatable if he's starting QB material. Good moments and horrific moments. From one minute to the next, you don't know what you're gonna get.  So if you ask yourself why some of us feel bringing in KP is a joke, it's because it looks how it's always looked. That everything being done is to prove that David Tepper was right when he made the choice to draft Bryce and everything done since has been to protect that decision. Bringing in another QB with even the potential to challenge Bryce was always out of the question.
