Hey guys, any objection to me passing this along to 3 guys that I work with to fill up some spots? They are all good baseball fans and would participate all year. Just wanted to check before inviting them in.

No objection here... I'm probably going to invite a couple people I work with... If we get 8, that's plenty... I may drop the number from 12 to 10... I never was a great fan of 12 teamers anyway...

One joined so far....he is a Yankees fan so that should be an indication of the level of competion he will bring (or lack of).... He mentioned setting his autodraft to all Yankees. This is his first time playing but has been asking me for a couple of months how it works because he has always wanted to play.

Another guy may or may not play, I asked that they only join if they will commit to playing all year and he has a brand new set of twins in the household (babies not boobs) and another one under 3 so he is not sure he can commit to the time without severe repercussions from his wife.

It can be done.

I have 2 kids 5 and under and it just means I usually can't make the draft so the computer ends up picking for me.

Also, I have to set my lineups days in advance, so I often miss a few players that sit for some reason.

Not ideal but I do my best.

I actually made those exact points to him because it doesn't have to be as tedious as it may sound. I would honestly rather him not sign up though if he wasn't going to stick with it.

  • 2 weeks later...

You don't have to be... Customize your draft order and it will draft for you...

Meh, I hate not being at fantasy drafts. It's always more fun to participate in. Hopefully someone who can be there will take my place....

I got a buddy of mine to sign up. He has played Fantasy baseball before.

He puts us back at 8.

Also my wife is interested in playing. She knows nothing about baseball, but wants to give it a try. She is already talking smack to me.

Do, you guys mind if she plays?

    • No, he has a long way to go to be that--I think he is probably referring to his ceiling--I think Legette has more room to grow from where he is that those more polished WRs.  When you look at his potential, it presents an argument that is not so one sided.  Of those three, only Odunze had a higher RAS score 9.92.  XL had a 9.90.  Malik Nabors had a 9.67.  Harrison Jr.  did not have one.  I am not sure that Legette has not overcome more obstacles to be where he is, and if you consider his adversity, his story might be more incredible, even though he is only a second tier rookie right nowm with Mitchell, Thomas, Pearsall, and maybe McConkey.  I am going from memory-but you have to think of things as a kid-when he was 16, his mother died of breast cancer.  When he entered S Carolina, his father died.  They had some issues and QB problems and the OL was terrible in Columbia---the others you mentioned?  None of that family drama, and they played at Washington, Ohio State, and LSU.  Huge difference.  I am proud of him as a man--when all his chips were on the table--when he had no more chances, he broke through and became a first round draft pick.  A school with a losing record, mediocre QB, and bad OL.  Mentally, he was struggling through the losses of both parents.  Amazing story.  Is he as good as those three who played at top universities?  Not yet.
