Yeah, we all pretty much figured that's what it was, but we've been forwarding that e-mail and cracking jokes all afternoon.

To really find it funny, you have to know our receptionist. Earlier today she sent out an e-mail saying that one of the cars in the parking lots trunks blew open in the wind and all the stuff inside was blowing out.

...Lady, you're already out there. In the time it took to compose the E-mail you coulda just closed it.

    • Hope it works that way. An ancillary benefit of having so many holes.
    • I made the point it was one side of the story. But what he said about Gettleman, the chronology, seemed pretty accurate.    What I remember is Smitty’s contract was prohibitively expensive due to its structure and he would not renegotiate. Sort of forced their hand because it was a very high figure for the era. That could tie in with him wanting out.  I remember I pointed that out but people didn’t want to hear that at the time. I don’t blame them, Smitty was probably my favorite Panther I ever watched play, again… at the time. He might still be if I went back and watched.  My thing with it is mostly Gettleman dropping the bomb at the combine. It foreshadowed his Norman melt down, Mr Tact.
    • How can they be sure he’ll succeed if they don’t give him every chance?    In case I need to say it, that is sarcasm.
