Why don't we pick an impact player thats going to help us win immediately? Then we can pick up Vince Young or Donovan McNabb before the season starts?

Vince Young is almost the exact same type QB, except he had an even better college career than Cam Newton. VY had one of the best championship games ever when he was at Texas.

VY went 30/40 for 267 yds passing, he had 200 yds rushing on 19 carries for 3 TD!

Why not pick up the Cam Newton clone and then draft a top prospect DT, WR, or CB????

People get so mad when others say that we will have the opportunity to draft Luck next year. This is reality because Cam will not play this year so the #1 pick in 2012 is a real possibility.

i think Newton will play this year, BUT the schedule is so tough so i cant see many wins.

Even if we do pick Newton if we have #1 overall in 2012 Luck is the pick hes to good to pass on.

i usually say draft best player on the board, BUT imagine how Luck would feel coming here. he would know that if he didnt win in a year, he could be replaced fast. it's a dangerous slope, but i could see the Panthers picking Luck a year after picking Newton and trading one of them, but it's likely the value will not be there.
