NBA Finals: Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks

Exactly. A title doesn't make you a better player than someone else. It's what you do in that process..

Thats been the basis of the argument Kobe/Laker loyalist have made the past few years. Kobes got 5 rings so hes the best player, he imposes his will yadda yadda. LeBrons stats and defense are superior, now Kobe isnt even having more team success than him which has pretty much made LeBron even bigger.

Kobe isn't a better player (when it's all said and done) because of his rings. He is a better player because of what he has done throughout his career which has resulted in those 5 rings. Success/rings are a by-product of the way Kobe competed, worked on his craft, and his determination. But rings aren't how you determine who is better. LeBron is more physically gifted than Kobe but that doesn't mean he is a better player. It's hard to articulate on how I judge players, but it's based off how they play and compete weighed with their natural ability. If it was just based on rings then there would be a handful of players that could argue on being the best player ever when they obviously are not.

I think what will kill LeBron is that with all his physical abilities he should be able to win 5 or so rings. I just can't see him doing that, not because of his talent, but because of his mentality. And that is why I can't compare him to Jordan, let alone Kobe. Yes, his career isn't over, but after watching LeBron so far in the league he doesn't seem to have that competitive drive in him. That might be his undoing.

SORRY... If you dint think that the Hwat and Lebron won't win at least the next 6 titles you are delusional! They're gonna do it with abysmal help this year! Do you really think that free agents won't flick to the Heat next year??? I mean really bro!? I agreed with most of your post... But to think that he doesn't have the drive to win!?????

Who do you think you are!? That's the most silly shyit I've read since joining the Huddle.

I know why Hawk agreed with you... Mostly the first half if your post. But you're questioning this guys determination as a competitor... Wrong move bro!

The Heat will win at least the next 6 Championships barring one of the three being killed in a horrific accident! Get used to what you see in June... And if you think that tonights game isn't tailored for JAMES to Go The FUG off you're even more delusional!!!

Open a PayPall account, let's put some cash in escrow, and put your money where your mouth is.

I'll bet you any amount of money that doesn't happen. I'll sell everything I own to wager it against you. I'll put up my future earnings and my future children.

Please please please don't be a bitch and let's make a real bet, a real monetary bet.

Set it up and name your wager bro! It damn sure Wont be Kobe stopping him. Nobody is dumb enough to try and stack up in the East... Big name free agents will go out west... Which means I'd take this trio against anybody in the current league or future league. Let me know... I got mad money in the bank just itching to be doubled or tripled!

P.S. I don't want to have to deal with anybody that even remotely mimics your genetic make up, so I'll let you keep your future children ;-)

oh, and when Paul(aka best PG in the game and a top 5 player) goes to the Knicks, their big three >>>> Miamis big three and it's not even close.

I hate the NBA and how more than half the teams don't have a chance to win anything(Bobcats for example), but NY, Oklahoma, Bulls, etc all have VERY bright futures and will challenge the Heat.

I'll look into how to do it. There is absolutely no chance in hell that the heat win anything close to hte next 6.

Let me know how much your life is worth to you because I want all of it. I want everything you own. Even the shitty stuff because I will just smash it on the ground in front of you because you are so ignorant.

Put a number value on your life then we're betting that. If you want to put up your possessions like house (if you own one) let me know and I will have one of the lawyers at my office draw up paperwork.

I want to punish ignorance. I want you to watch me take a piss on all of your possessions for being so foolish.

TRD... Keep all of your stuff... I'll keep mine. 5 yrs from say... Oh, Wednesday you'll thank me.

Plus I doubt that you could hold my balls, let alone cover my belongings bs yours. It's really not about that. It's about the Heat winning the next six... Including this one. After that, I won't speculate, but they will win the next 6...

All of u can laugh all you want... I'm usually the last one laughing at everyone else... It comes with being as good as I am... Not that you would know anything about that TRD!

Call up your boy Kobe... Maybe u can watch tonights game from the couch with him!

Expect LeBron to shut up all the Haters tonight... That's the way the Heat roll... Sorry TRD... I know it's hard seeing your hero fade into the past, but it happens. Jordan did the same to me. I dealt with it though... I didn't cry like a Lil beeitch like you are!

First, The Heat aren't gonna have much leeway when it comes to cap room. They are over the cap limit (yes, it changes year to year) for the next several years, if I am not mistaken. They aren't going to get top notch FAs (like you state) willing to sign for next to nothing. People will go where the money is. So before you criticize people for being silly read your posts for accuracy, bro. The Heat will have to build through the draft and trades. It won't come through free agency.

There's a reason LBJ went to Miami, it was the easy way out. If he would have went to NY, NJ, or stayed with the Cavs he would have been the man. I have watched this kid since he's entered the league and hasn't shown me too much when it comes to having that drive.

only if they get rid of D' Antinonio, who thinks you can win without playing defense.

But if he'd gone to the Fakers, every Kobe fan in the world would be fluffing his nuts.

In other words, a majority of the people bashing him.

THANK YOU clerk!! That's my point! It wouldn't even be a hot button issue if he had joined Kobe and the Lakers!

Watching those pregame soundbites from the coaches reminds me how underrated Coach Spo is. He is one of the most prepared coaches in the league. It's funny to think that people were calling for his head midway through the season.

    • 99% of my complaints generally are front office complaints.  It may not appear that way always but that's where I have been for some time.   It's also why I constantly talk about random parts the last several years....  to this day, if they were going to draft Bryce Young....I thought they needed to do specific things.   They have literally done the opposite.   In a certain world, I would LOVE an AT.  A Bryce Young.  An XL.  All sorts of people.  How they have chosen to put it all together here? Meh.  I still think if Bryce Young is your QB....the easiest and obvious play for a team....would be a dynamic slot WR, a rec RB, and solid rec TE.  Spread it out.  Let him be the point guard.  I still think this team is being built for a different type QB....one that a Jake Delhomme style QB would thrive more in.  Which is in fact the heart of what Canales has been around and done.  So I nitpick it all.  If I had thought Bryce Young was going to rebound....I would have NEVER been all in on XL like I was.  I was all in XL because I thought the BY experiment was about to over quick.  Ladd would have made way more sense if you believed in BY IMO.   I don't think this team did.  I think Dave drafted XL because they were mentally ready to move on and did after 2 weeks.  and I thought the Frank think was bologna from the jump.  I just have hate the pairings and plan every since Rhule year 1.   Rhule year 1 was the last time I really thought this team was in a good place to give it a go.  It went horribly.  But....the zoomed out plan was pretty logical all around.  Rhule just was not ready and a clown on top of that.   I still think the Dave, BY, XL, Tmac build 3 round pegs and a square one at the end of the day.  Worst thing to happen to BY was to land in Carolina IMO.   Which is often how the NFL plays out.  Where you land and what the org does matters probably more than raw talent/ability often.  I do not actually have a problem with Adam Thielen in a vacuum.  He is overperforming in a vacuum all things considered.
    • Bryce Young could throw for 40 tds and 4500 yards this season and my gut instinct still says you would triple down on hating him.
    • They should just be predetermined slotted contracts.  I feel like that was the intention of the current system, but they left too much room for interpretation about guaranteed money.  I agree though.  You play for who drafts you or you don't play.
