This is my first post, so please take it easy. I’ve been using the huddle forum the past few weeks as a way to keep up with Panthers information and gossip, but there have been a couple things I keep reading that are just starting to annoy me…hope this is an acceptable thread to post this on

1.) Every time Cam does something wrong in camp, there are fans who think this is an indication that he is a bust, over-rated..aka ryan leaf/ heath shuler

2.) Any time Cam gets rave reviews in camp, it sounds like some fans are expecting him to be a top-10 QB by the end of the year…….and anything else would be a disappointment.

My view is everyone needs to calm down and realize that he is a rookie QB, albeit a rookie with a lot of hype and a ton of potential. Furthermore, he is a rookie QB coming into what is a brand new offense for him and all of the returning veteran offensive players…and oh yeah, that whole lock-out thing that happened this year.

Look at the list of players I assembled below consisting of hall of famers, future hall of famers, and other team’s current “franchise” QB’s. Look at how well they did in their first year, only two had over an 80.0 QB rating (flacco), and the other was Big Ben (98.1…but seriously the dude almost kills himself on a motorcycle, and after all of his rape allegations he’s made Kobe Bryant look like an altar boy). Granted there are always the exceptions such as Dan Marino, Matt Ryan, or Big Ben…guys who establish themselves by the end of their rookie season, and maybe that’s what Cam does this year. I certainly hope he can have a pro-bowl year in his rookie season, and he does have that potential…but plenty of great QB’s have not established themselves until year 2 or 3.

So please stop interpreting what Cam’s career is going to be like after just a few practices in training camp, most likely we won’t see his full potential until next year. So when he struggles stop saying, “I told you so, Cam sucks” or “Oh no…Oh no..Oh no…Cam’s the next Jimmy Clausen”….chill people…he’s mostly likely going to struggle at times…that’s what rookie QB’s do.

I know some of you have been saying the same thing as me, and I only offer the list below to bolster your points. I hope others of you doing view me as a Cam-doubter. I do expect him to develop into our franchise QB who puts up great numbers, but I don’t expect him to be an all-star right out of the gate….could he be…yeah its possible, but I’m not going to count it against Cam if he struggles at times this year (look at the list below).

oh yeah, one more thing that I don't get....

3.) Why in the world do people insist on booing Jimmy Clausen???? I get it, Clausen’s performance can be compared to Leinharts….but he is a Panther, he is young, he had to play under John Fox last year….and shouldn’t we hope he gets better???? Oh no let’s hope he sucks so we can keep yelling at him (great...... so what if Cam gets hurt..ummm??) ….or hey how bout we hope he actually is getting better so we can get trade value out of him…that’s an idea eh???? Anyways, these are all thoughts from a first time poster…...

thanks for those of you who constantly keep these threads going with new information.

and thanks to Squirrel for starting this thing up.

Interesting statistics.

I don't mind that you weren't at camp. Just happy to see some fresh faces around here who can carry on a conversation without flaming the team. We're all supposed to be fans here so let's cut these "noobs" a break. WE may very well learn something from them.

    • It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.
    • I really fuging hate this era in so many ways.  I look at those Adin Ross and Neon kids, and I just wonder why tf are they famous?  Why would anyone be desperate enough to gain THAT audience that they’d risk money, career, disciplinary action to go up there and associate with those fuging dweebs?  And back in my day, racist peers got their ass beat.  And not endorsing or approving bully culture, but checks and balances and all…  had those two been bullied, or at the very least humbled, they wouldn’t be famous and glorified for being the fuging idiots they are now.  It seriously pisses me off… they both have done and said multiple, openly racist stuff and major media keeps pushing them, talking about them, and propping them up… and then dummies like Puka who don’t need the platform or exposure lend their celebrity to them.  fuging idiot… and even the other streamers, I don’t get - Speed, Kai…  I don’t understand making nobodies famous at all, but there is at least entertainment value to some degree there, and I could see how young, impressionable kids would find them something to aspire to (sadly), or view as “cool.”  But Ross and Neon?  They’re just shitty, shitty nerds with big ass mouths. I’ve went back recently and watched some classics (in two very different eras and categories 😂)  like Robocop and Idiocracy.  And what I find fascinating is how both movies illustrate how stupid society became by showing what the citizenry is entertained by.  In both, society became anti-intellectual and the citizenry were entertained by lowest denominator, primal-type absurdity - poo like, “Ouch! My Balls!”  Or on Robocop, a guy is a watching a show where they are smashing cakes on ladies’ breasts and then a guy says a line as the camera zooms in like, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” and the audience thinks it’s hilarious.  That’s where I feel like we are now.  Like who watches that clip with Puka and thinks any of that poo is funny or cool?  If I was Puka, I’d honestly be wondering why tf I’m hanging out with these beta ass, racist, cretin ass weirdos.
    • 7 wins this year and some of those against really good teams and yall think Canales might get fired? Lol Good luck getting a better coach in here if that happens.
