Gregory said Simpson and Bengals teammate Anthony Collins were present when a woman, identified as Aleen Smith, 27, accepted the package Tuesday at Simpson’s home. Authorities detained Simpson and Collins, but no one was arrested, Gregory said. Simpson told police he lived at the residence and gave officers consent to search the premises, Gregory said.

During the search, officers found about 6 more pounds of pot, Gregory said, which was seized along with related items such as “packaging materials, scales and smoking devices.”

Pitiful. I went to high school with Jerome and have followed him throughout his collegiate career at Coastal Carolina and his NFL career (or what was his NFL career) and I'm surprised he was the one, coming from a good family and nothing like that in high school. But wth cincy breaks bad on another one.

Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson is facing a three-game suspension for player-conduct violations during the lockout, but first will have a hearing on his appeal in the near future, sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

A source familiar with the situation believes Benson has a "strong case" to appeal the suspension. He will play this weekend against the San Francisco 49ers as no suspension is official until after appeal.
