Autozone rocks

...at least a little.

A friend had a dead battery..asked for my help. Went to jump off her car. I have a different car than I had the last time I did that. I was not 100% sure which was the positive and neg terminals. (First time ever I could not figure out.)...So AZ was close....I asked them for help...came out and gave me the info I needed.

Then I went back to friend. Car still would not start. Battery appeared very dead. Needed to take it out...and have it tested and possibly replaced. She had no tools, and I was not sure I could have gone to my house and found the right thing. Went back to AZ...they did not know exactly what size stuff I would need. The guy helping me disappeared and then came out with a complete ratchet set for $6.99.

I bought it...had just what I needed. Got the battery out. Back to AZ. They tested it..it was very, very dead but good. So now they are charging it...for free. Will get it in the morning.

They were so nice about it all. I have been there over time for things but they did not know that today. They were so nice and helpful...they really understand the customer service stuff and investing in the future. Not a business model everyone has.

Well done Autozone.

Just remember when you get automotive repair advise at one of these places you often get what you pay for.I have had them (and Advance auto parts)misdiagnose a charging system problem more than once. One of these such occasions caused me to stay at a horrible motel in Georgia, because instead of the battery they sold me I actually needed an alternator.

    • No one way to do it, it does appear that with the bigger draft picks of the last 5 years…..majority haven’t steered clear of young QBs on the roster being their hopeful guy. Especially past their rookie seasons but even some the biggest ones have had it early.   As far as Andy Dalton, the two young guys he has “mentored”…..have had very rough NFL starts.  Which really ask the why the heck is Dalton here.   He doesn’t really check any box.  No young potential.  Can’t step in and win.  And his mentor track record with Fields and now Bryce is bad
    • I had thought the Panthers might let him play out his contract this year and hope he stays healthy. If not draft a left tackle and move Ekwonu to right tackle.
    • Frankly, if most teams in the NFL lose their starting QB for a significant amount of time, they're screwed. The fantasy is that one has a future Tony Romo or a Nick Foles that can carry a stacked team. The reality is that you might get roughly 3~5 games out of your backup before it all falls apart. Remember all of Peyton Manning's backups? Utterly terrible. Speaking of backup QB's, Raiders may need one. https://www.nfl.com/news/raiders-qb-aidan-o-connell-suffered-fractured-wrist-in-preseason-finale-expected-to-be-out-6-8-weeks
