UNFORTUNATELY, the writing is on the wall :-(

I thought bringing in a new coaching staff and getting the #1 overall pick in the draft, the most impressive rookie qb statistically in NFL history at that, along with bringing in two solid tight ends to help in the receiving game was going to make us more successful.

Apparently I was wrong.

And the offense isn't better? The problem is we've been awful on defense; our offense is plenty good enough to win - as we've seen time and time again.

What we didn't count on was losing Beason for the year and that Dan Connor would be a laughing stock in his place. Or that we would essentially get WORSE at DT instead of better.

The offense will be fine. We will finish 6-10 or 5-11 with a bottom feeder defense and with a top 10 pick go after the best defensive player. Just getting Beason back will be huge; we have nobody capable of replicating his on-field leadership right now and it's showing big time. And that's not even getting into the fact that he's LIGHT YEARS better than Connor.

At this point, I'm convinced that our 1st pick won't be enough. We're going to have to add at LEAST 1 defensive starter via free agency.

    • I'd rather get a vet to fill XL's spot for a chain mover and give Jimmy Horn more reps since he's basically our Ted Ginn speed guy. T-Mac and Coker are locked in as the top 2. They honestly fuged up giving XL the start over Moore in the playoff game
    • I have been looking for a dropped pass list and all that comes up is QBs. And team stats. When I do receivers I get the passing stats for a handful that threw passes this year.    I wanted to be accurate but anyhow I was looking because thought I remembered reading where T Mac had more drops than XL this year.  One of you many smarter than me people here,I would appreciate it if you know how to pull that up, please do. Thank you.    And yeah I know that isn’t all there is to it I just thought it was interesting.  Of course what the hell is a drop lol.
    • I agree with this and I think it's worth mentioning too that Bryce is not consistent on his placement and especially velocity and that in large part is driven by his footwork. We all know XL doesn't have the best hands and I don't know that he can overcome that. Cam always had the heater that just hit your hands and sank into your grip, where Bryce has some that are harder thrown, some soft. Bryce stepping into a pass looks so much different than that hop throw thing he does. I think XL really needs to hit the jugs machine and start learning how to catch all these different touch passes. TMac and Coker don't have these issues. If XL doesn't get some work in he's going to be out of the league in the next couple of years.
