Newton versus Luck

The one thing that no one ever points out in the Cam vs. Luck debate is the talent Luck has currently on offense vs. the lack of talent Cam had last year.

Luck has:

A TE that will be the 1st or 2nd TE to go in this years draft probally 1st or early 2nd round.

2 OL that will both go in the first 3 rounds of this years draft.

A WR that will probally be drafted in the 3rd or 4th round of this years draft.

Cam had:

2 OL drafted last year. 1 in the 5th and 1 in the 7th.

0 WR drafted from last years team.

0 RB drafted from last years team.

0 TE from last years team.

The SEC, in general, has more talent than any other conference in college football. But last years Aurburn offense had less talent than this years Standford offense. Aurburn does has a rb that will be drafted that was a freshman last year and he is pretty good. But overall, Standford has much more talent on offense than Aurbun did and Cam still put up better numbers than Luck. I think that should tell you all you need to know.

Good lord, some of you guys, we're 2-6, no small part of that being key 3rd & 4th quarter failures on offense EVERY F*CKING WEEK. Cam is our guy, and the future looks bright but please stop it already. Way too early to call his NFL career a blazing success, no?

A couple of points here. No one except maybe Cam thought he would be this good this early. What is most remarkable is how much he has improved in passing accuracy and reading defenses in such a short time. What's more amazing is he still has a long way to go. While he hasn't won many games does anyone doubt he is not a winner?

With towns souring on Flacco, Rivers and even Matty Ice, Cam is looking like the prototypical QB of the future in the NFL. Who needs luck when you have a supercam.

    • It's crazy with how much winning was going on when we had a little cool off period that we're still just a couple games out of 6th. Moussa is getting better every week and Coby is getting comfortable. Would be nice to get to 6 but I think this team is a lot more stacked than the last couple play ins. I can't remember the exact rules but if you're 7th seed and win the first game I think you automatically move on and don't have to play the second game?
    • I think it was a thing for sure. Panthers weren’t too many people’s first choice. Or 5th choice.  2022 and 2023… coaches fired mid season. Consecutive years. You want any of that?  He has definitely overseen a rehab of how the Panthers are perceived. Because we are a place that is seen as up and coming. And just the little thing of he accommodated Theilen so graciously, that gets noticed. It all adds up. Dan is doing a lot of things right, probably most things.  Needs a good draft.
    • K, I think that is dumb, but you do you. I didn't find anything online that made him out to be a dislikable person. I am certain the Panthers would have cared so much if they lost your fandom if they hired Sean Payton. But bet you would have come crawling back if Sean lead us to a Super Bowl victory or Golden leads UNC to a champion ship. It is easy to say you are gonna leave a team if the hire someone you dislike when the chips are down. But people like you tend to come crawling back once the team finds success.
