Something to give respect to Tyler Thigpen on...

Tyler Thigpen says he is "not OK" with being demoted from the Chiefs' first-team offense in favor of Matt Cassel.

The new Chiefs staff is calling it a competition, but Cassel was immediately put with the starters at recent minicamps. Thigpen ran the second team. Thigpen's agent has already said his client won't request a trade.

Least the guy is sucking it up and not whining about it.

Kent Babb, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs QB Tyler Thigpen said he is "not OK' with being demoted to No. 2 quarterback behind QB Matt Cassel. Thigpen said he is willing to trust coaches' judgment and hopes he will have a chance at the starting job. "Everything happens for a reason. You may not see the reason right now, but I know there's a reason that they brought a guy in like Matt. I'm behind him, and all I'm doing is pushing him, making him better. Hopefully me doing that is going to make this team better," Thigpen said.

^ More to go with this topic. I also remember this bastard catching a td on the Bucs on a wide receiver pass last year. Dude is athletic as hell and I respect him more and more.

    • I’m an optimist thru and thru. I love any win this team can muster, and Bryce did what he could to keep the team in it, but he’s why the team was out of it to begin with.  I like the guy, but he is not… he’s just not it… and I was swayed by the way he finished last season, but his physical limitations will never be overcome. A one arm tackle stopped him in his tracks en route for 6, among several other plays where an even average starter in the league succeeds.  A franchise QB is supposed to be his own cheat code. Bryce needs a cheat code dude, that is not him, to win. Chuba CARRIED (literally) his ass last season. Thielen bailed him out EVERY game he played in last season. Today: Rico turned in one of the best games in franchise history, Tet was unguardable and put up at least 100 yards on his own (PI yards included),  and the defense basically pitched a shutout after going down big so they could beat one of the worst teams in the NFL.
    • Jimmy came thru today I hope he is active next week   (2) NFL on X: "Bryce Young to Jimmy Horn Jr. on 4th down! MIAvsCAR on FOX/FOX One https://t.co/HkKw7uXVnt https://t.co/FYOfsxtAMk" / X
    • Rico 10000% saved Bryce Young from being benched for the Dallas game.  The way that game was going there was going to be no way to trot Bryce out next week at home if it kept going like it did.  Bryce probably is safe from bench risk until the next home and home presents itself.    He can’t be playing bad going into that next Atl game and then lay an egg in it.
