Canes fans VS Panthers fans

RBC Center prides itself in how loud Hurricanes games are.

The fans are diehard, except maybe Tony Stewart and his pit crew. He didn't have a cowbell, but just about everyone else

did. Even if someone isn't yelling, they're ringing a bell. The guy we went with wasn't much into yelling and chanting, but he'd damn sure wave his towel and ring his cowbell. LOL

Are flags even allowed in BOA? There were several people waving big canes flags at the game we attended.

got to throw my 2 bits in here...which is only currently worth about 19 cents at the current rate...

as a live long hockey fan, I have to say that there is something about watching a live hockey game...there's just always something going on. Throw in the fact that it is a playoff game and look out, you are in for a wild ride. That being said, I've been to a few football games at Qwest that honestly match the noise and intensity of said hockey game and I've also been to a few hockey games where you were sure you were going to fall asleep. So, for me, it truly depends on where you are and what the circumstance is.

I can imagine the Seahawk fans are tons louder than Panther fans, even last year when you guys had a crappy year.I finally got my ass out of the house, drove 21/2 to 3 hours to go the Canes vs Devils game 6 and had a blast and everyone was into it.Of course winning 4-0 and the threat of elimination was a sure motivator! Now speaking of BOA stadium, the Panther crowd is the quietest, most docile NFL fans around,a fact that annoys the crap out of me!

Bottomline: The NHL is irrelevant and the NFL is the daddy. Atmosphere or not I want the NFL in my city over the NHL and it's not even close. If given the choice to choose one, there isn't a city in America that would choose the NHL over the NFL.

Detroit.

    • it's pretty simple IMO.  The Tepper Panthers are the most unsuccessful professional sports in all of sports.  The problem isn't the posters here have changed.  The product dictates the atmosphere more than anything.  In reality, the daily convos about THE worst team in all of pro sports on a fanatics site....is going to feature harsh and critical convo.  Only one entity can actually change that.  It's the Carolina Panthers football team.
    • Yes message boards will always include that sort of stuff… However, this place has been a cess pool since the team took Bryce Young over CJ Stroud. It becomes a problem when it is accepted and promoted, which it has been here (even by at least one mod). Many posters sole purpose on this board is to try to dunk on others for having different opinions. We just had one write a novella on how talking about Bryce Young’s game winning drives “needs to stop”…after a win. They don’t want real conversation. It “needs to stop”. There are many posters here who literally only show up after losses to dead thread and try to dunk on others about the QB (MRenshaw is an easy example). I really don’t see much of that happening the other way around. There’s too many people that would rather the team be bad so they can feel justified for constant doom and gloom and negative opinions. It’s been pointed out by many over the past couple years. This just isn’t a place to have football discussions anymore because of the constant hyperbole. If you don’t subscribe to “Bryce Young is the worst QB ever who can’t throw the ball further than 5 yards and is the reason why we lose any game we lose and doesn’t help in any game we win”, then you are labeled a Bryce Young Stan.
    • if you believe he is watching every NFL game.....every week.....go right ahead.  I get it, he said something you like.  But that's like believing the talking heads on the ESPN shows are watching all the games.  You think Stephen A is watching the Panthers every Sunday too?  If Stephen A needs to go on First Take he certainly can pretend like he has watched every snap any player on the roster has taken lol.   No one is that isn't a Panther fan has been watching the 9-25 career go down every Sunday.  Or even a lot of Sunday's.  You know who knows more about Bryce Young than Long? The collective huddle.  What they are reviewing is stat sheets, highlights and in summaries.  It's an old formula lol.
