Mac is not a football expert. He's a classic radio host. No one would ever get angry at Mike Tirico for not knowing the finer points of football. His job is to enable guests and co-hosts.

I learned a few valuable things from this interview.:

- we are considering offensive lineman in a BPA situation. we are also taking "safety" into account.

- Hurney basically admitted he fudged the cap. At one point he said the cap isn't going up as much as they expected. It was a small sentence that gave away a big piece of information.

- The Panthers did not and will not bring in Fletcher Cox. At the very least this is interesting. Did they see enough at the combine? Or do they feel like Terrel Mclain is the 3tech and they need a big boy like Brockers at nose?

Three tidbits of useful information is a huge haul for a 10 minute Hurney interview.

I got a lot out of this interview as well. I felt like the answer to the Fletcher question wasn't a direct knock on Fletcher, but a knock on the DT position as a whole. I know we brought in Poe, Brockers, and some others, but Hurney's answer got me questioning the importance of DT to the FO. I myself feel like we have our 3tech in McClain, and I hate when people lump him in with Fua, because I'm not sure we have that run stuffing, space eatting DT. I like Andre Neblett a lot, and I like what little I saw in Shirley, and he's a big guy that's nimble on his feet, but I haven't seen enough out of him to say he's that guy.

Fletcher came to charlotte already and stay for 2 days in March. He avoided the question. Believe me they are very interested in Cox.
