Sources: Ewing To Get Interview For Bobcats Gig Thursday (Updated With News!)

Recommended Posts

Straight from the NBA ESPN page...

The Charlotte Bobcats' coaching search will continue this week when owner Michael Jordan's club interviews Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing on Thursday

Ewing, a close friend of Jordan's and currently an assistant coach for the Orlando Magic, will be the biggest name yet to speak with the Bobcats.

The Bobcats are also going to interview Mike Dunlap (St. John's University Red Storm: Associate Head Coach) today and Dave Joerger (Memphis Grizzlies: Assistant Coach) on Friday.

The Bobcats are also said to have Stephen Silas (Charlotte Bobcats: Assistant Coach) lined up for an interview for an unspecified date.

The Bobcats have already interviewed Mike Malone (Golden State Warriors: Assistant Coach) and Nate Tibbets (Cleveland Cavaliers: Assistant Coach).

The Bobcats have also shown interest in Brian Shaw (Indiana Pacers: Assistant Coach), Nate McMillan (Portland Trail Blazers: Former Head Coach), and Jerry Sloan (Utah Jazz: Former Head Coach).

Patrick Ewing has a "good chance" to become the Bobcats next head coach, a source tells the New York Post.

Take this for what it's worth. Ewing has been considered a favorite by some because of his noted relationship with Michael Jordan, but the team is doing its due diligence in interviewing a multitude of candidates. There is no reason for Charlotte to rush its decision after winning just seven games this season.

    • Btw... only Mitch fugging Marner has a better +/- than Key 🔑!!! And, Mitchy needed 5 more games and almost 100 more shifts to get there.
    • I was honestly flabbergasted to see Rod send out Stanky and the boys to to matchup against their top line to start the game. The reason that line has been so effective is because they've been matched mostly against 2nd and 3rd lines all year. You've got last change. Use it to your advantage.
    • Nobody played well on defense last night. But, the vitriol towards Chatfield (and to a lesser extent, K'andre) is bigly misplaced. People (not just you) just refuse to accept how bad Slavin has been this season. And, I get it. Canes fans (and informed analysts) have spent nearly a decade trying to explain to casuals just how good Jaccccob is at hockey. 4Nations happened and the hockey watching public started to listen. National media even started floating the idea of creating a new award in his honor. Then this season, he gets hurt. It happens. NBD. But, when he finally came back, it wasn't the same. He'll get back to his old self in no time. Probably just some rust, it'll be fine. Only, it wasnt rust, and he's not fine. He's bad right now. It wasnt just last night. Although, that was absolutely the worst game of his NHL career. Slavin (-4) currently has the 3rd worst +/- of anyone left in the playoffs. We've  been begging the world to recognize Jaccob Slavin's greatness. And, by the time we finally got people to listen, he shits the bed! I blame Kash!
