I'm not from Charlotte or NC, but something I've heard all over NC from North Carolinians is when someone says, I'm/he/she's from Winston-Salem, NC, or Wilmington, NC Or Pinehurst, NC.... They always add on the NC part, like we didn't know those places are in NC when we are in NC already.

i'm from greenville.
