Watch the Game Again

2. Bad guard play. I'm hoping one of the backups can take Hangman's job, and Amini progresses from week to week. The good news as I see it, is that I don't think the coaches knew how bad it was. With our lack of a quality 3 Tech DT during training camp, I don't think Hangman and Amini were really challenged. Now we know, and the coaches can make some adjustments. I expect some different looks to cover up some of the offensive line deficiencies.

BTW, I agree with most of your post. But outside of some drastic change or FA acquisition, the bolded is still going to be a problem for you when we face each other again. For example, McCoy was injured last year when you played us (both games), so you never saw that aspect of our defense. Not to mention we were really uninspired by the time we faced your team...

I re-watched the game and I'm even more convinced that the Bucs scouted our game preparation @ IMG...

There are several examples of the Bucs defense having an uncanny ability to diagnose the plays we were going to run, especially the "gadget" plays, which makes no sense, except when you consider that we probably spent the majority of the time in the walk through last week going over the plays we don't typically run and any other wrinkles.

One of the most glaring examples of this was early in the game. Cam takes the snap and fakes a pass out to the flat, then pivots to run with the ball while DeAngelo begins to trail him to set up the option sweep. The Bucs defense didn't bite for a moment on the fake pass to the flat, they totally ignored it and converged on Cam... as he pivoted he found himself surrounded by 4 defenders who basically ran to a spot and waited for him.

Here's the play in question:

I would call the Bucs defense lucky if this only happened on one play, but there were several more examples of this kind of "astute" defensive play by the Bucs throughout the first half. When we flipped the script in the 2nd half, the Bucs didn't seem to be nearly as good at reading the play we were going to run... but the damage had been done, you could see our offense was shaken by the fact that Bucs seemed to know our plays better than we did.

There were several examples of poor execution on our part, I'm not making excuses, but it's pretty clear to me that the Bucs had some extra intel on our gameplan.

I'm not sure, "I'm not making excuses," means what you think it means.

I don't want to make excuses for anyone. But... The left side of the O-line was far worse than the right.

Teams stunt, twist, blitz, throw the kitchen sink at you to confuse you. So far it appears our line is struggling with picking everything up. The good news is, we don't play DT like that every week. The bad news, teams will continue trying everything to confuse us.

It would also help our line if Chud could decide what he wants to do on O. We should be attacking the D, making them uncomfortable. Not reacting to what the D is doing to us. Which seems to be making us uncomfortable. This passive crap is just strange as all get out.

The way the D played. They deserved a Win. Chud disappointed them big time.

    • Winning games and be a +500 team are good. But the goal is to win Super Bowl.  Chiefs had Alex Smith, went to playoff twice and still replaced him.   BY as of now: - To many fumbles - Completion in the intermediate range is just far below acceptable - Not enough of a deep throw threat....   The stats you try use is deceiving.  Catchable......  That is an opinion. Show me the completion %. And also, how does BY compare to other QBs using the stats you cited. Oh... ranked at 27

    • The Entitlement Paradox: When Winning Isn't Enough for Panther fans.    Just the other season(s) we were praying for wins by any means. Brought in every run of the mill QB you could think of.  We know all sides of the ball was bad like egregious bad. However some how we have won 5 games and TOXIC ENTITLEMENT has emerged.    We are a team that has to take wins by anymeans nothing has changed. Keep pounding means it aint gonna be perfect!!    Some panther fans have now developed a toxic entitlement where even victories feel insufficient, demanding flawless performance, or perfection, which stems from historical success in which we dont have any lol. This mindset poisons communities by fostering relentless criticism, harassment, and ingratitude that undermine team morale and alienate casual supporters. For the new Carolina Panthers, this could manifest as fans booing Bryce Young after gritty wins for low passing yards despite low turnovers, pressuring tepper into premature changes mid-rebuild, or driving away talent through online abuse!! eroding the positive momentum from their recent 4-game streak has brought us. Trust and believe the players do see your toxicity.    Anyways here are some positive stats.      Most Accurate QB on... 20+ Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (79.2%) 2. Sam Darnold (79.2%) 3. Bryce Young (75.0%) 10-19 Yard Throws 1. Jaxson Dart (88.0%) 2. Jayden Daniels (82.9%) 3. Drake Maye (80.7%) 0-9 Yard Throws 1. Drake Maye (92.9%) 2. Spencer Rattler (92.6%) 3. Bryce Young (91.7%) @FantasyPtsData
