Game 27: Carolina Hurricanes (15-10-1) @ Tampa Bay Lightning (11-15-1)

Recommended Posts

The Canes travel to the Bay area as they take on the Lightning is a must win game for the Canes. Winnipeg is coming on strong and only trails the Canes by one point so if the Canes want to stay atop the division, they need a win tonight.

The Canes will have a new face in the line-up tonight as Adam Hall will be switching natural forces and joining the Hurricanes in the away locker room tonight.

The Canes will roll with the following line-up...

Jiri Tlusty - Eric Staal - Alexander Semin

Jeff Skinner - Jordan Staal - Patrick Dwyer

Drayson Bowman - Riley Nash - Jussi Jokinen

Adam Hall - Tim Brent - Tim Wallace

Jay Harrison - Justin Faulk

Tim Gleason - Joe Corvo

Joni Pitkanen - Jamie McBain

Justin Peters

Dan Ellis

Inactive: Tuomo Ruutu, Bobby Sanguinetti, Kevin Westgarth

Injured: Chad LaRose (concussion), Cam Ward (MCL)

The Lightning will roll with Mathieu Garon in net who has a record of 2-7-0, unfortunately for the Canes; Garon's two wins have come against the Canes.

As far as injuries go, the Lightning will be without Vincent Lecavalier, Benoit Pouliot, and possibly Tom Pyatt.

It's time to get back on track...

LET'S GO CANES!!!

    • So what are "the people" paying for when they give money to a rich dude for a sports ball situation?  The brand and prestige of a sports ball team.  It's the hallmark of a big city to be able to do that.  There is a pretty terrible ROI on public dollars into private enterprise, period.  But governments continue to do it for the image associated with it. Since I live outside of CharMeck, it doesn't affect me much.  I love my Panthers.  They have been part of my life since they announced the team in the early 90s.  My parent's names are on one of those Panther statues.  Some of my best memories with my family and friends come from that stadium.  But on the flip side, could CMS use the $650 million?  What about public housing?  Streets?  Parks & Rec?  There are a lot of other places that $650 million could go. But in our modern society, I bet that after much hemming and hawing, the money will come.  Areas of the budget will suffer.  Some taxes will increase, but that's how things work in our society.  Charlotte is not willing to lose the Panthers.
