Mike, LeBron is never going to "work" for Dan Gilbert again. It's not about what Dan Gilbert wants (as LeBron showed in 2010), its not about money or feel good stories. When someone disrespects you to a certain level no amount of money or whatever will make you "work" for them. Everybody on this forum would quit their job if their boss acted how Gilbert acted towards Bron. He has 0 incentive to go back. His agent Rich Paul put it out there simply as a PR move because a lot of Cavs fans are getting over their hate of Bron. EVERYBODY and I mean EVERYBODY loves a winner, so some of his old fans in Cleveland are missing all that greatness and good times and warming back up to him. And LeBron wants to be on good terms with them again as well because he's never forgotten the support they once gave him in the 1st half of his career. Remember he never dissed the city or the fans, he just left. So his agent puts the "rumor" out he may return in 2014 for Bron to get back in their good graces. And as we saw in his most recent return to Cleveland the fans were nowhere near as hostile as in 2010 and a crazed fan ran on the court with a t-shirt on begging him back. I truly believe he has 0 intention to.

If Lebron ended his career in Cleveland with a championship he would be like the Darth Vader of the NBA or something...

A not so long time ago, in a galaxy fa--- in this galaxy, a promising young man possessing limitless potential comes into the National Basketball Association believed by many to be the chosen one destined to bring balance to the land by bringing home a championship to the worst pro sports city in all of the nation. Cleveland. Seemingly a cursed city, it would be the first sports title they've seen since the pre-Lombardi era. Tempered by raging emotions of feeling under appreciated after years of sacrificing his blood, sweat, and tears yet failing to realize this championship ambition... he falls to the dark side aided by the temptations of power and "not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, not 7" championships and forms the empire down in Miami. In this seemingly selfish act of conquest, he is confronted by Obi-Wan Nowitzki after slaying the previous opposition on his way to the NBA Finals. Nowitzki and LeBron duel it out in the 2011 Finals, with the seasoned old NBA veteran coming out on top forcing the brash young LeBron to go home licking his wounds. Over the course of the year LeBron undergoes quite a transformation and completely dismantles the old bearded Jedi Warrior-looking German in the 2012 NBA season opener. LeBron and the Miami Heat empire then cruise en route to this regime's first NBA title, their first of seemingly many as they rule the NBA with an iron-clad fist.

But suddenly he does the unthinkable by returning to Cleveland! He proceeds to throw Pat Riley down a reactor shaft, redeems himself, wins a championship for his hometown (k, not really but Akron is close enough), and retires a hero.

The End

KT is spot on here.

Yes Dan Gilbert is a businessman, but as a business man, he broke a golden rule....never publicly burn a bridge with a business partner. DG showed his ass to try to appease the fans, and in doing so lost any chance of LeBron ever coming back to Cleveland IMO. I think LBJ is trying to create a legacy in Miami, where he will retire.
