"He had the naturally quickest feet of any corner in the draft. His backpedal was the most fluent. His balance and body was absolutely remarkable. He was a sudden mover, he was competitive, he was challenging, he played the run. To me he was the most physically gifted corner in this draft class."

- Greg Cosell

Although I've seen his name here or there on this forum, he doesn't appear to have a thread and many may not know too much about him. It appears he's been rising up the rankings recently. A number of analysts such as Mike Mayock and Greg Cosell now have him as the number one corner on their boards, yes, ahead of Dee Milliner. Admittedly these rankings are based on personal evaluations and not necessarily informed opinions on where they'll go in the draft, but Hayden now looks like he'll end up being a first rounder, and potentially he maybe selected somewhere around our pick. The one glaring concern is his serious injury, but he was healthy enough to run at his Pro Day (although not lift), and his injury isn't expected to have any long-term repercussions. While given what we've done in free agency and the way we've approached the draft, it doesn't seem like we'll be targeting a cornerback in the first, Hayden is certainly a prospect to watch.

Just a quick correction, he didn't run at the Combine (just interviewed with teams). I'm concerned about his injury because it was life threatening, however I would rather have Hayden as a football player than a guy like Vaccaro, Richardson, or Patterson. If the team is o.k. with him medically he's no doubt talented enough to be worth a top fifteen selection....

Yep, my mistake, must have been thinking of one of his two Pro Day times as a Combine time. Fixed it now.

The scapegoating and blaming the teams woes on his personality is where it's like Cam Newton all over again. It was a failure on multiple fronts and primarily Lee's. Dude said ON AIR pregame that they had to protect the paint and if that was his gameplan going in he couldn't have botched it more. As the commentators said Ball's a rhythm guy and Orlando was preventing him for getting any kind of flow going. I'm a normie watching on TV and said they needed to bait them into fouling to combat that. They didn't even try until the 2nd half when it was too late. I think it's fair to expect the star to overcome whatever but LaMelo was not the problem in that game and he's not what is holding the team back. He's the only reason they're flirting with being a great team. I kinda put the center play on Lee too. Moose is great until he's up against a big who can body him. We've always known that and that's what Kalkbrenner is for. I don't know if it would have changed much but Kalkbrenner should have had more minutes than him.  And moving forward with the center position, I just think it's the time to trade Diabate while his stock's high and that's not an indictment of his game. He's like an evolved combination of Biyombo and PJ. He's a great rim protector and the strength issue is just what you're going to have to deal with if you want that. But Kalkbrenner is perfectly capable of protecting the rim and we gotta get away from the undersized centers or it'll always be a problem for us.
    • Honestly its why that Jalen Coker grab was a big deal.  I'd been warming up to the idea of a sadiq pick and was adamantly against a receiver...but this altered my train of thought.  I mean For instance, Cade Otton signed for 3 yr 30 mil contract...thats not dramatically different than the rookie payscale for #19 (4 year 20 mil with 5th year option), however you KNOW otton is decent...no clue if Sadiq will be anything.
