Why I don't want Noel.

Please look at all guys at both spectrum instead of just riding on Len. You've always been a guy who like to bash others who you aren't 'enamored' with.

 

 

That's because I have followed these guys all year, and I have a pretty good idea of what they can and cannot do.

 

So to see people make sh*t up about them to strengthen their argument really annoys me.

 

Kind of like when you were riding Bazz before he even played a college game, now look at him, he might not even be a top 10 pick.

I respect your opinion and I have followed this team since the beginning as well. I think we are all hanging around this forum to talk about a team we cheer for. 

 

I don't see it as making poo up just having two different points of views. 

 

You don't see Noel at having all-star potential and thats what it boils down to. I on the other hand do see all-star potential if his knee checks out. I do not see Biz with Allstar potential and that is no knock on Biz just my view of him as a player. 

 

Now as far as wanting players....thats what we do as fans! I wanted Bazz in the middle of the season and I remember getting into good conversations on why Id prefer Bazz over McLemore.

 

Chuck disagreed with me but thats the fun part!

That's silly. No one is destroying Biz' progression by drafting Noel. Noel is much more athletic and probably a better player than Biz. You gotta keep your option open and if Noel is there, you gotta take him.

 

Let's remember that we're going to have to spend some money this off season. Bring in a guy like J.J. Hickson, and this is a great move. Hickson would compliment greatly with both Biz and Noel. Also, Noel is not going to be back till around Christmas. Biz will have all the time to develop.

 

Biz and Noel aren't Centers!!! Biz has been playing out of position because he's the strongest player in the post on this team. And in the Nba a 6-11 212 pound player isn't going to be able to take the beating going against the Dwight Howard , Gasol's, Hibbert, and Lopez's in the league.

I still don't get why we can't have depth? What's wrong with both Noel and Biz? Do they have to play together? No. Can they? Yes. Offensive part might be a struggle but lets be honest. The NBA is a driving league. 

 

Majority of NBA teams but require a "superstar"

PG: Top PGs are scoring point guards who break down the defense. Some have an outside shot and can shoot the 3 

SG: Now mainly see 3 pt shooting specialists who get the ball after other players drive

SF: Driving to the basket using athleticism 

PF: Stretch floor hit the mid range jumper

C: See PF bc usually no Center on the floor

 

Fundamental Teams (Spurs/Pacers/Memphis) "team basketball"

Same as above except with Post game players at the C or PF positions.

 

So what type of team are we going to be in the future? Can Noel or Biz be a legit post threat? I am assuming Noel is available because Len is already off the board. So if you had to pick Noel/Bennett/Oladipo, who do you pick? 

 

I say go for length. I am sick of the Brandon Haywood, Mullens, Diop combos. 

 

Small market Teams compete with well rounded teams. We will never get a Lebron or Durrant type wings where it doesn't matter what we have in the post. No we have to build like the Indy's and Grizzles. Get a big man and we can compete on a nightly bases.

I agree with you which is why im on the Len bandwagon. But If we are talking about Noel being available Im assuming its because Len jumped him. We need to get bigger so if no Len Im taking Noel if available.

Difference is Bazz isn't Noel. Noel actually played well. If he didn't tear his ACL, it's a no brainier that he's the no1 pick.

I agree both of them are not centers, but tell me how many teams actually have a true 7 footer centers. Majority of the teams are playing with 6'10-6'11 centers.

I've been trying to spit this out, but couldn't. I'm glad you read my mind!!! Biz has shown some goods here and there, but nothing yet of being the long term answer. He's still too raw and needs a lot more developing IMO. Biz is not good enough to change our draft plans. If I'm Cho, there is no way I'm letting Biz affect my draft process.

This is how mediocrity begins: when you start drafting by needs bc you have mediocre talents already. We passed up on Jrue Holiday bc we had Felton and DJ at the Point, even when many experts and mock drafts told us to take Holiday. We decided to take Hendo instead.

You take Noel bc his potential is way above Biz. Noel's ceiling is ALL Star caliber. Biz's is a starting role player if ever reached. It's pretty dumb to say you don't want Noel bc we have Biz.

 

 

 

Look at this kid!!! Beyond the fact that you see no touch on his shot and every shot he takes is 2 to 3 feet from the basket if it isn't a dunk. And since he's not Dwight Howard or ShaQ that won't work to well in the pro's. Dude shot a hook 3 times from his Knee's.

 

How about the fact he is built like Kevin Durrant. But that's a problem as well since KD is a SF who doesn't have to play in the post.

 

Finally he is reckless and Clumsy. I've never seen a guy who lands awkward as he does all the time. I'm surprise he doesn't get hurt more. His ankles and Knees will always be a problem with the way he plays. I'm afraid that if he adds anymore weight his legs won't be able to take it  then you add his reckless play and I know he won't last.

 

Noel is a bust and will spend more times in the training room then a all star game.

Well wasn't Kevin Garnett skinny as hell. Also many of the same people who talk about Noel's weight wouldn't mind Zeller if we went down a few spots (Zeller played last yr around 205).

Kevin Garnett – 217 lbs, 6’11", 19 yo

Larry Sanders – 217 lbs, 6’10", 21 yo

Marcus Camby – 223 lbs, 6’11", 22 yo

Joakim Noah – 223 lbs, 6’10.5", 22 yo

Chris Bosh – 225 lbs, 6’10.5", 19 yo

Marcin Gortat – 225 lbs, 6’11", 21 yo

Dikembe Mutombo – 228 lbs, 7’1.25", 24 yo

…and the list goes on

So you have a list of solid-to-great players, who no longer get bullied in the paint because gasp! people with nothing to do but lift weights put on weight. And MOST of which already had 2-3 more years of college weight training on them?
