Bill Polian on Shula

Nope, just saying he was good enough to win with, something you say he wasn't.

Facts are facts.

Shula's last year with him and Shaun King they went 11-5.

I don't really care I just like to see you get all angry about it because you had to live in Tampa with a bunch of retirees and strippers.

Oh, you mean the QB another offensive coordinator was able to win a Superbowl with?

Dilfer has openly admitted he didn't put the work in until very late in his career and he no longer had the physical talent to be good. Not saying that totally excuses Shula but he wasn't working with a great QB.

That was like 10 years ago. The guy has actually worked wonders with Cam.  Not only with his progress as a physical QB, but also with how he handles adversity, failure, mistakes, etc.  Let's face it.  I think Cam is a great guy at heart, but he can come off as arrogant (I base that off of many interviews and press conferences I have watched).  He's the kind of guy you'd love to be friends with, but he's not always a good friend.  It can't be easy to work with him sometimes.   Shula has become the offensive coordinator because he has special insight and skill working with Cam (the whole package--talent and baggage).  Plain and simple.

In the best years in TB, he had a couple of great RBs Dunn and Alstott.  Power running with a game manager QB (who later on won a Super Bowl).  The Panthers offense is totally different (but we say we want to be power run..hmmmm).  We have playmaker QB and top notch talent at many of the skill positions.  Does that mean that Shula, given more to work with, can produce better results?

That is what RR is counting on.

Actually..I've listened to Polian...he has a lot of valuable insight and he loves the city of Charlotte.  And he's worked in the organization and is one of the best GMs in the game.  If he says Shula is a great coach.  I trust him.  That doesn't ease my worries, but it does make me hopeful.
