Ken Norton passed yesterday at age 70. His son, Ken Norton, Jr. is a defensive assistant in Seattle and he played linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys and in San Francisco, confirmed the news.

Ken Norton broke Muhammed Ali's jaw in March 1973 at the only professional boxing match I've ever attended at the San Diego Sports Arena. Norton was also known as the "Fighting Marine" as he served in the Corps from 1963-1967.

Had a series of strokes and was suffering from congestive heart failure, but he was widely regarded as one of the first boxers to study film while at the same time reading Napolean as part of his training to conquer opponents. Guy was supposedly pretty smart and business savvy and did well for himself.

RIP Ken Norton.
