Philippe Paradis shot could come in handy in years to come

Source: News and Observer

Philippe Paradis had the hardest shot at the Prospect's game last season.

Paradis' shot registered 95.7 mph. The Hurricanes were looking for a big, physical player and they got that with Paradis. "Philippe has the physical play, the aggressive style of play we were looking for," GM Jim Rutherford said. "Going into the draft, we wanted to get some size and a physical player." His shot is a big bonus. Paradis was considered a second or possibly even a third round selection before the Hurricanes grabbed him in the first round with the 27th overall pick. He is still a few years away from cracking the lineup.
