Question on Hardy

I am onboard with trying to make sure that we do what is best for the franchise as a whole, even if that means losing the Kraken, and I also think you want to see as much consistency with sacks as possible.

 

That being said, it's more telling with how consistently he brings pressure than pure sack numbers. For example, in the first 49ers game, he may not have recorded a sack, but he brought so much pressure against Staley and Davis on one snap that it pushed Kaepernick right into Dwan Edwards for a sack. Hardy had 82 pressures on the year, second only to Robert Quinn.

 

In five of the games he was held without a sack, he still registered multiple QB hits, and in the games he had no sacks or hits, he still registered 2 games with 5+ hurries.
