2014 Huddle mock offseason rules/ offense and specialist FA pool

I get needing a OT but Oher sucks. Better served just drafting one than massively overpaying, no?

I think massively overpaying is a tad bit of an overreaction.  With the dolphins bidding $9 there is no denying Oher is going to be paid this offseason its just a matter of who does it.  His versatility playing both tackle positions and experience are what led me to make the offer.  After trading away Bulaga OLine becomes a big need for the team so Oher can either replace him at LT, be a significant upgrade over Don Barclay on the right side and let Bahktiari develop on the blind side, or I can still explore OL in the draft too. I don't see any downside to the signing especially since Green Bay actually has the cap room to make a move like this.

    • Backup QB has been an issue of mine for a long time but not just for Bryce and Dalton. We have never really been able to develop QBs or build an offense around strengths. Dalton isn't going to move the needle one way or another. The problem is in our FO and possibly coaching staff (current staff undetermined as of yet). I'm of the belief that you always try to get better. Dalton wasn't good other than one game against an abysmal defense. Churn the roster, including backup QB. If BY isn't the guy we've got to start over anyway. Who knows. We might actually find someone good. Other teams have done it before.
    • Lol. Worst case? I think you mean most likely result. I don't think people are going to be wasting much breath on Dalton or QB2 if Bryce flounders this year. It's going to be people calling for coaches, GM's and owners heads for the mess we got ourselves in with Bryce in the first place. Rightfully so.
    • I mean that's his sole reason for being here. He doesn't win football games. He's here to keep Bryce comfortable.
