Smith Perspective: A Voth-man prophecy

Please at least make an effort to understand a post if you are going to reply and attempt to be sarcastic about it. I didn't say anything about how much money either man is making. It's not about that.

Playing the game of football and putting your future on the line every time you go out there to play is a hell of a lot different than the management aspect. Both can be cut throat, but one injury can end a career for good, and the pay check that comes with it. Yes players make quite a bit of money obviously, but that doesn't last forever, and we have obviously seen many players go broke for various reasons. Let's also not forget the long term ramifications of playing in the NFL with the toll it takes on a player physically.

Yes Steve Smith's job is in jeapordy. He very well may retire before facing the choice of uprooting his family who has been settled and established here in the community for over a decade now to play with a new team short term with little to no guarantees.

It still sounds a bit melodramatic (for how you're explaining it now), as Steve Smith's in the twilight of his career.

So yeah, his job may be "in jeopardy" out of fear of being cut, or not picked up for the same salary by another team.
