  1. "Show me a good loser... "

i'm convinced that very few or none of them sat in half empty stadiums watching the likes of chris weinke and jimmy clausen my first live panthers game was the 13-12 loss to the jets in 2001.  i have seen some shitty panthers football and what's going on now is a million times better than that.
  2. "Show me a good loser... "

i've read enough bullshit from people just like what you described in the second sentence to kind of rough out a profile for them. i think it's mostly based on this: there are some people who are just hopelessly in love with the concept of a scrappy, underestimated, and ultimately relatable guy like jake delhomme quarterbacking their favorite team.  a guy who has been overlooked time and again but is such a great story.  that's the "real" carolina panthers to them.  a quarterback like jake coached by a guy like john fox playing "tuff physical footbawl" aka winning games 16-13 or losing terribly but with oh so much heart.  matt moore is a good fit for this concept as well.  they're terrified of anybody paying any attention to the panthers because they've bought into the "under the radar" myth and they're willing to go 8-8 every year for all eternity so long as they've got their scrappy fiery gritty leader to root for.  they're willing to tolerate some star power at certain positions, of course.  but there is one spot where such a thing gives them diarrhea, which brings me to my next point- the way the panthers are now is alien and strange to them.  explosive offense run by a chiseled rock star quarterback picked at the tippy top of the draft who wins serious national accolades in the form of league MVP and a first team all pro selection.  if there's a grocery list of things that are completely wrong for "their" panthers, that's it.  a guy who plays more like the widely loathed michael vick (except not really but you know what they really mean when they make that comparison) than a sloth-like "traditional" pocket passer who gets taken down by an unusually tall blade of grass. cam newton will never be able to do anything right by these people.  he's keyed a culture change in this organization and no matter what any idiot says i don't think it would have happened if we took, say, christian ponder or jake locker in that draft or got cute trying to sign a cheap quarterback and "surround him with weapons" like josh mccown in tampa bay last season.  even if a team quarterbacked by cam brings a lombardi to charlotte there will always be some reason that he doesn't deserve any credit for it.
  3. My take on the Cam Newton fumble.

if anything this has taught me that years of running over guys trying to kill him and the 2014 season as a whole (particularly the eagles game that i'm honestly surprised he made it out of alive) doesn't prove he's tough in the minds of a lot of people but this one incident does prove that he's a bitchmade diva somehow
  4. If Cam Newton wasn't a Panther...

a lot of the criticism he gets and the ridiculous disdain some people have for him goes about a light year beyond the "i don't like him because he doesn't play on my team" factor i wouldn't take it there if he played for another team.
  5. "Show me a good loser... "

oh but he looked so bad walking out of a press conference never mind the fact that his teammates, coaching staff, and the front office have his back.  there are neckbeards on twitter dishing out cam newton hot takes and if we don't win back the michael proctons of the world what do we have?
  6. If Cam Newton wasn't a Panther...

yeah it's called being a fan. steve smith's behavior and antics weren't nearly as cute when he was doing it to the panthers wearing another team's uniform
  7. "Show me a good loser... "

this is a welcome change.  it wasn't that long ago that the acceptance of losing was seemingly a pillar of our team culture.
  8. Well Isn't That Convenient...

so the conspiracy is obvious enough for fans to be able to figure it out yet some flunky or disgruntled former employee has yet to rake in millions writing a tell-all book
  9. What Broncos Fans Are Saying

you registered on a forum well after the game was over to try and call people out for "talking smack".  do you really need how lame that is spoon fed to you? you wouldn't even be here if denver lost which means that your ability to even say anything like this is contingent on the contest being long over and the result being in your favor.  even if some idiot posted about how the panthers are going to win 100-0 at least they did it before the game and didn't hide until it was safe to say something. you had nothing to lose in this scenario.  you didn't expose yourself to possible ridicule by making predictions that could conceivably be wrong like everyone in this thread did no matter how crazy or unrealistic they were.  you just wouldn't have shown up if the broncos had lost and nobody relevant to this thread would know or care about your existence.  you'd be crying in your beer on whatever broncos site you post on cheering on your mods as they banned panthers fans showing up trying to do what you're doing right now. i mean if you don't get that then i'm not sure what else i can do to explain it.
  10. Seriously wtf is this Charlotte?

is there any other NFL team that has such a bizarrely antagonistic relationship with the local media
  11. Offensive Tackles cost us the game.

remmers' days seem to be numbered.  i'm sure daryl williams is going to be giving him everything he can handle in training camp.  any left tackle prospect we draft will likely sit behind oher for the year barring something unexpected though.
