Eagle cam- Today is the day

Recommended Posts

I logged on.... will be my daily peace finder when I'm at work.

The nest is about 6' in diameter? Wow......

I've seen them in the wild in the western part of the country, Alaska, Wyoming, and saw one flying right above the Colorado River when we rafted it a couple years ago. But you have no appreciation for how large these birds are.

Hope all 3 eggs hatch.  Last year she laid 2 eggs but only 1 hatched.

Earlier today watched the dad bring mom a squirrel for a mid morning snack...well, at least the part of it he did not eat.

The hatching process can take up to 48 hours.... like breaking out of Alcatraz.

And there are no sign of pips as of this morning.

It's been reported by a viewer that 1 hatchling is out, the other 2 eggs are pipping. I've seen the eaglet- not that it's very recognizable at this point.

Just scrolled back and watched a shift change.  1st time all day mom has let dad sit on the nest.  The little eagle looks like a piece of fuzz in the nest.  I would be awesome if all 3 eggs hatch.

Correction: 3rd egg isn't due for another couple days; 1 is hatched, 2nd is pipping.

And dad looks like he's having a hard time getting comfortable...lol.

2 little fuzzballs now.  The 3rd egg  will be day 35 tomorrow...so looking for pipping to start in a day or 2.
