"If Mark Jones qualifies, Carolina will receive a seventh-round comp pick for him after New England's comp pick for LaMont Jordan (and Indianapolis' comp pick for Hunter Smith, if there is one), and Tennessee will not receive a seventh-round comp pick for Daniel Loper."
AdamJT13 has been very accurate in the past with compensatory picks. hopefully he's right this year as well with the Panther's probable compensation picks. I think next year will be the best the Panthers have done in compensatory selections. We should get a 3rd for Peppers. And i'm not sure if you get compensation picks for players if they were cut(Landon Johnson, Kemo, Delhomme, etc.
so we could end up looking like this in the draft...
2-WR-possible #2/return specialist
3-DT-depth/rotational guy
4-SLB-depth/contend for starting job
6(from Oak)-WR-depth/return specialist
6(comp/Hangartner)-K-to develop behing Kasay
6(comp/Omiyale)-QB-develop/backup Moore
7-C-depth
7(comp/Jones)-DE-depth

maybe we can trade our late round picks for a 5th rounder since we have so many comp picks and we wont be able to trade them.
I don't think you can trade comp picks. but if you mean our 6th and 7th that aren't comp picks then yeah, that would be a good idea

Teams don't get comps for players that are released, just for those that become FAs due to expiring contracts. Also signing people that were cut by other teams doesn't factor into that equation.

will be announced late this month. the Panthers could end up getting 3. for Geoff Hangartner, Frank Omiyale, and maybe Mark Jones. according to AdamJT13, we should get a 6th for both Hangartner and Omiyale, and if we get one for Jones, it would be a 7th.

I know we cant trade the comp picks, I'm talking about trading Our picks. Maybe we can package a 6th and a seventh and a second round pick to a team for a later second round pick and a 3rd or 4th round pick.
