'The Kids' are not all right

Maybe a teacher at a school will show it to my children without my knowledge or consent?

Maybe my wife will bring it home and want to watch it, without me knowing what the movie is about?

Maybe my friends will tell me its a great movie and I walk in spend $25 on a ticket and concessions, and get stuck in a theater and have to watch it? (as an example, this happened to me with Battlefield Earth... omg... horrible movie)

Maybe I'll catch it on TV while channel surfing and watch it from the half-way point and not know what's going on?

There are plenty of ways media infiltrates your life. Don't pretend it can't happen.

in none of those scenarios did hollywood force you to watch a movie. sounds like you walk through your life being assaulted by your friends and family and forced to watch movies. i'm sorry you live such a dangerous life.

write a letter to Tom Hanks, maybe he will tell Hollywood to stop making movies you don't like because you often have no choice but to watch.

Whether its super patriotic flag waving 50's style families that duck and cover when the H-Bombs go off while smoking lucky strikes and eating meatloaf, OR 21st century lesbian couples who got artificially inseminated, have high-powered careers, do recreational drugs, and are politically charged to the point of extremism, the attempt is the EXACT same.

Time and again, the media and hollywood attempts to force lifestyles on people for some sort of social acceptance and reinforcement of THEIR form of morality. They try to show us what is acceptable, what is "right". Hell, the name of this flick is an indication of that.

I think it's an abhorrent practice by either side. By influencing your children, these movies and shows undermine the individual right to raise your family how you want, and influences the next generation of people on how to think and act.

On a more specific level about this movie... the premise that a sperm donor would be involved in a family like this is absurd. People who jack off in a cup for some cash don't get to find out who they have fathered. The practices that collect the samples are very regimented, and there are confidentiality laws that protect people from find out how their sperm was used.

ludicrous. You have more extremely violent and highly sexual films with lower ratings coming out year after year and you're going to claim that hollywood is trying to influence your children negatively with a portrayal of a subculture of people you don't agree with? Ridiculous. Hollywood makes what sells, period.

You have a problem with it? Don't go see it. I won't go see it. But to say that some little indie film about a gay family is part of some sort of "BIG HOLLYWOOD" scheme to liberalize teh childrenz is silly beyond belief.

Everyone should watch 'this film is not yet rated'. It's pretty biased in it's bashing of the movie industry(more specifically the rating system) but there's a lot of good stuff in it. It spells out pretty clearly how there's a huge bias against gay/lesbian/sexual content in movies. We're just getting to the point where people can make movies with gay themes/issues and they get blasted by sexually repressed conservatives for promoting the 'gay agenda'.

Damn you'd think "Hollywood" has shadow operatives on the sidewalk beating down Christians and stapling portable DVD players showing their family-destroying homo-glorifying rot to their faces. The movie has barely made more money than "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" and is hardly breaking even. Although I'm sure the studio is enjoying the free publicity via white-hot conservative outrage.

yea, the ratings board is extremely conservative and their decisions are totally arbitrary. not only that but their identities are to a large extent confidential. The whole thing is absurd.

BCG....if "Big Hollywood" wanted to push an agenda in your face they would film Independence Day 2 and it would involve anal probing
