Is it normal?

63 posts in this topic

I think it's a generational thing. I've never played video games, couldn't tell the difference between a PS, XBox and whatever else there is out there. I have a couple nephews, one of which plays all the time, and he has grade issues at school. Don't know if that has anything to do with it, but if he were my kid the games would put away until the grades came up.

I don't know, I just see the draw. I can find so much more to do with my time...

I will say this about them, they improved the poo out of my hand-eye coordination. Kids that play sports .. most of the better players play video games.

Is it similar to an addiction for you? Doesn't it make you tired? Does it effect your relationships?

Addicted? No

Makes me tired? No

Does it effect my relationship? No

I played A LOT of video games during college. I worked 20-30 hours a week and graduated with triple major and 3.4 GPA and while in serious relationship. Video games and drugs are not the same even tho some people making it out to be.

Ok, All good, all answers I was looking for.

on to other questions...

When you're playing, do you get mad or angry if something isn't going the way you think it should and shout about it, do you say the game is cheating and complain about bugs and glitches?

If it is fun, why not do it? Normal is relative.

When people obviously hack? Yes, its fuging annoying. When my team sucks ass and we all get killed? No, but some take it hard and ask for crappy players to go to another server which I think is retarded. Most people playing video games for fun win or lose but there definitely few odd. I play a lot of MW3 and most players around age 22-35 and some even in their 50s...

the largest age group that plays WoW is early 40s. Not a generational thing, not an addiction either. Just something people enjoy doing after a stressful day or week. It's certainly a much better escape than getting drunk at a bar or whacked out on drugs.

    • Of course, he's so massive he has his own gravitational pull.
    • You miss the point. Taylor was here before. We picked him because of what he could do for our wide receivers not because he had some great knowledge no other person had on the staff. Shula and Rivera and Gettleman studied multiple college systems for months before signing Taylor or drafting McCaffrey or Curtis and would have drafted the same whether Taylor was here or not. They liked the way Taylor developed McCaffrey which showed his talent but Stanford's offense wasn't Taylors idea or unique to him. Shula has a connection to Taylor as early as when Shula was at Alabama.  The debate was whether Taylor was chosen to replace Shula because Shula didn't know what to do to run a college offense and if he screwed up Taylor would replace him. And that Taylor was the reason and most influential in getting McCaffrey. I said it wasn't even close to the truth and this plan predated Taylor and was more thorough and we'll thought out. Everything since then just confirms I was right once again like usual.
