@ESPN_Colin
Blazin 5 delivers 4-1 week. and the guy who drafted Cam Newton, just axed in Carolina. Tells you what the organization thinks of Cam.#bust
"Dateline ESPN: Attention starved mental toddler Colin Cowherd says something idiotic and controversial to make sure people look at him. Does hand stand and masturbates in public."

Anybody who doesn't think the problems with this team start all the way up top is either blind, or doesn't want to accept reality. Like I said, I'm glad he's gone and this move had to be made, but it's not all Hurney....
Oh yeah, it starts with Richardson no doubt. But he is in it for life me thinks. This is the next best thing. I'm just glad they didn't fire Ron and keep Hurney.

the only problem (and its a problem that i can legitimately see happening) is that we get someone worse there.

Hurney did some great things in the scouting department. He and his troops did an outstanding job evaluating talent.
BUT, YOU CAN NOT MANAGE A SALARY CAP TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!
I hope we bring in some kind of amazing cap manager, cause it is going to take a few years before we can solve our cap issues!
Think about this statement for a few seconds. Hurney was a cap guru before being a GM, the decisions made about the personnel of this team were not just Hurneys. Glad he's gone, but this starts at the absolute top.....

"I am very fortunate to have been a part of one of the best organizations in the NFL since 1998," Hurney said.
"As General Manager I will always regret not helping us win the Super Bowl or having back-to-back winning seasons. I hope this change starts accomplishing the direction to those goals. I understand this decision by Mr. Richardson and will always have an extremely close relationship with him. I consider him the best owner in the NFL. I am responsible for everybody in coaching, the players, the scouts and everybody in football operations. After six weeks, we are 1-5 coming off a 6-10 season."
Still falling on the sword for JR, even on his way out the door. Amazing.

Please don't just run out and get Bill Polian back? Let's do this slowly and methodically.
I certainly hope they do their due diligence but there are worse choices than Polian.
He's forgot more football than Hurney and most people have ever known.

I wouldn't be dead set on the notion that Rivera is next though. If the belief is that Hurney was the problem, Rivera could get a pass.
For that matter, how do we know Rivera didn't play a part in this happening?
