By 1 yard. The rookie single game passing record (yards) was given to Andrew Luck this past Sunday against the Dolphins.
Luck: 433
Newton: 432 and 422 (2nd and 4th)
Just thought I'd throw it out there. Can't wait for the Newton vs. Luck matchup, hope we show the doubters in this organization that Newton was the right choice regardless of Luck skipping out for a season and returning to school.

how many weeks did it take him to do it and how many 400+ yard games has he had?
at any rate, i don't really care and i don't think cam does either. i knew he was going to be good. his success doesn't detract from the fact that newton is still incredibly impressive, had one of the greatest rookie seasons of all time and the path that this team is on with him.
at this point...luck is just another QB out of 32(ish) starters in the league. he's not in our division. not in our conference. he's not our concern.

luck hasnt had to deal with the criticism of being a black qb in this league like cam has endured. just saying.

Hats off to Luck for breaking the record. However, Luck has been given the chance the all rookie QB's should have, the opportunity to develop, without all of the media intrusions...........

That hurts man. Cam no longer in the record books for that statistic because of a single yard. One of these rookies will probably top his season mark too honestly.

Records are made to be broken. Be thankful he had it.

Rookie records don't really mean squat. The kind of quarterback you develop into over your career is what's important.
Luck deserves loads of credit for how he's playing. These rationalizations are silly.
People need to get over that Luck didn't come out last year and stop trying to find some way to invalidate everything he does like a bunch of jealous schoolgirls.
Newton has areas he needs to work on, but I'm still happy with him. He should be judged on his own merits, not how he compares to Andrew Luck
Let it go already.

Please look at Indy's schedule this year, it is an F'n joke. Much much easier than ours last year and this year. Not to mention they play in easily one of the worst divisions in football. Please.
