pretty much this and the cap can be managed and fixed or at least worked around fairly easily. its a mess for sure, but its not the big concern people make it out to be.

I know fixing the cap has not been a been a big deal in the past but I think the big contracts given last year present a bigger problem coupled with the age ind injuries

it won't be easy, but it can be done.

its just not something i'm worried about nor do i think its something that will or should set the team back or delay progress much at all.

My findings...

The NFL salary cap last year was $120.37 million, this year $120.6 million. It's expected to stay pretty much the same and only make another similar small increase. Source: http://www.nfl.com/n...nfl-next-season It's estimated next years cap will be $120.9 million.

The Panthers currently have $118 counting toward next years cap. Source: http://espn.go.com/b...ontinue-in-2013

The Panthers currently have $4.0 million in cap space this year, that they can carry over into next. Source: http://profootballta...-nflpa-version/

So we'll be $6.9 million under the cap.

OK, the link stating we have $130 towards the cap is more recent, I'm guessing that one is taking into account some of the recent extensions and restructures. With $130 toward next years cap that means we'll be $5.1 million over, although for some reason Pat Y never gives exact figures ("just about $130 million" ??) so that's just a ballpark figure.

Gross... most overpaid and overvalued commodity on this team. It would be hard to argue that D-Will isnt given his role this year, but he still can ball, Gross is just getting abused.

Here's a good reference for contracts

http://www.rotoworld...tracts/nfl/car/

While some stand out more than others, just about every non-rookie contract is bad and overpaid. I don't know who negotiates contracts for this team but good lord man.

I see a price hike at Bojangles coming

which would be weird since JR doesn't own that anymore.

:)
