You kids have hammered me all afternoon for my ideas and have yet to offer your own.

I'll wait for that instead of sticking my neck out the rest of the day.

I know Panthro is stocking up on musket balls and black powder.

As shown in the chart, the percentage of households legally owning a gun is going down. Judging by these two numbers, the increase in sales is due to a small group upping their number of guns, which is believable. The 80/20 rule is generally pretty universal.

Crime as a whole is going down, so it's not surprising that gun violence as a whole is going down as well. Gun sales are up but the % of the population owning a gun is going down.

Make of that what you will, but stop cherry picking data to support an emotional argument.

While absolute data on the number of new gun owners is hard determine — under New Jersey law the police are prohibited from releasing specific information pertaining to firearms purchases and permit requests — local gun dealers are observing the trend toward increased ownership in their own shops.

More anecdotal evidence.

i don't think the two things are mutually exclusive ...

Jersey's gun violence has actually been on the rise...

It's the only sensible solution....everyone gets a musket

There is no numerical evidence of this being first time buyers. It is based completely off the observations of gun store owners informally asking their customers.
