I would say the iPhone, but if the 4 is the choice, go with the Droid.
iPhone updates can damn near kill older models. My 3G is almost unusable.

hey man, if you'd had a droid made in 08, it would be totally unusable.

just don't update your phone... i'm still running a jailbroken ios4 on my 4... works beautifully.

idk about totally unusable... they generally stop pushing upgrades to droid phones at a certain point. My X never got the upgrade to ICS because it couldn't handle it and as far as I know, my Rezound is not scheduled to upgrade to Jelly Bean. I don't think Apple does that... they update no mater what, no?

they phase them out eventually... but i have to say... imo for a 4 year old smartphone to be operating at all is more a sign of quality than a design flaw.

Yeah, I don't think that the hardware is designed to last that long on any of them.

The Lumia 920 is pretty incredible. I love it.

Read the industry reviews and then read customer reviews.

Pros: Nice sized screen, fast, never crashes, excellent battery life, excellent integration with social media, email, etc, & the best camera on the market (especially in low light conditions).

Cons: It's a little heavy.

Most smartphones have shitty battery life for what it's worth. Not that bad, but pretty bad. My nexus lasts about 40 hours if I just use it sparingly. If I'm texting a lot, or playing a game (anything that uses the screen) it will usually die within 12 hours....

There's really not an easy way to get out of your contract to get a new phone. Depending on who you have the early termination fee might be manageable, but you're still probably looking at about 400 dollars (after you buy the new phone under a new two year agreement)....I'm just going to wait mine out. By the time I'm eligible for new hardware in Oct '13, Samsung should have the SIV out, or even have the SV coming soon....

buy a used one. seriously. i buy most of my phones on craigslist... Buy something 1 generation old, people are looking to offload them for about half price (or less,) don't have to worry about signing a new contract... You get one from somebody who's taken care of it... you're good to go.

love the iphones for their battery... my phone 4 is 2 years old and still holds a charge for two days of regular use.

iphone is superior to any droid by a mile.

You got that right. . Back in 2010!!

Anyhoot.. iphones are simple and lock down. Android phones are open and have tons of options. I have the Note 2.. badass phone btw.. its big..but not that big
.. I wear skinnies and it fits (barely. .lol)!! Can't go wrong with both..

bait is set, goes to hide in some bushes....
