SCP, I can understand & respect your decision, people do change their minds. My kids are 3 & 5, and into everything. To say I am worried about it is an understatement. I did not bring the forearm into my house without having a safe, which is now mounted to the wall inside my closet. When my son gets about 7, I plan on teaching him to shoot. More to take away the curiosity, if he knows, is educated on proper use & handling, Im hoping that the ooh factor will be gone. I figure if I take him shooting, then should the day ever come when he has friends over & they are intrigued by them then he will be smart enough to say "No, not ooh, those are guns and we're not touching them". At least that is what I am hoping for...

I would say that the first thing a person ought to get prior to buying a firearm is a passing grade on a mandatory firearm safety course and mental health check plus a prior felon check. I know that a lot of you will find this somehow impinges on your " freedoms" but tuff s hit. Its my opinion. It comes from too many idiots running around my neighborhood shooting stuff up at all hours of the day and night and Ive had bullets whiz by me on two seperate occassions as well as had shotgun pellets rain down near me. People are stupid and some of them shouldnt be allowed access to lethal weapons. Thats why we license drivers in this state and you periodically need to renew that license.
Damn bro you need to move.

That's exactly how I planned to do it. I just changed my mind on the whole situation.
Anyway, sorry. My intent was not to derail the thread.

My local indoor range had like 11 in stock.. it shocked the hell outta me since I too couldn't find em anywhere else either.
