Leaked NFL Documents: While Owner Cried Hardship, Carolina Panthers Had $112 Million Profit Over Two Years

Bottom line, an almost 80mil profit seems fine for owning an NFL team. Especially when you consider the number of partners involved. Seems like fair compensation for having one of the coolest jobs in the world.

Aren't all Packers financial records public (due to all the stockholders)? So what about this is surprising? Everyone knew that the owners were bluffing.

Well... he is dying. Perhaps JR is stashing all that money to become immortal and eventually lead us to that Superbowl win he craves so much.

The only reason this is significant is that the public and in particular football fanantics are stupid.

Tiger Woods makes more than the entire Panthers ownership in a year.

Cash flow is all that matters.

Look at page 5.

In 2011, the team lost $48 million and in 2012 the team made $30 million. If you add back the distributions/dividend that Jerry paid to himself and the partners, the team still lost $3 million over the two year period.

Basically, if you understand accounting, you'd see that the Panthers would be absolutely screwed without revenue sharing.

We will have none of that here. There is no place for logic or facts in the Huddle.

That doesn't seem like very much, considering how much the team is worth.

The company I work for is only worth quarter of a billion, and make much higher profits.
