Cam has haters man and there are plenty of people around the league who want this guy to fail. Look at the consensus from the national beat writers. I'm surprised ESPN allowed this positive article on our QB to published!

What's really irritating is if we have a successful season and Cam blows up, that Schein doucher (Peter King, too) will write some heart felt article saying how great Cam is and how they "knew all along" that he could be great.

I'd hate to see what type of asinine venom those two could spit out if Cam ever throws an interception in a playoff game.

I normally dislike reading everything you say because I think you are generally a troll.  However, this was well put.  Pie to you.

Those of us who love Cam are going to love this article. Those among us with a more realistic approach are going to say, nothing in that article proves Cam is ready to be THE MAN.

The talent is their. It is up to Shula and Cam to bring it out to its fullest. Once that happens. We are going to be fuuuuun to watch.

Thing is it's not the responsibility of an article to prove that Cam is / is not ready to be / do anything.  And most people aren't going to point at it, whether they like Cam or not, and say "see that right there proves [insert thing here]".  Yaskinskas (and a lot of other people) think Cam / this team are primed to have a big year.  That doesn't make it fact - it just makes it a possibility.

I think you have the right idea but it's aimed slightly off.  People who actively dislike Cam (or this team) will dislike the article because it's not negative.  Everyone else is going to read it and go "man it's nice to read an article about our team / QB that's not overwhelmingly negative to a point of being silly".

Pat just re-stated what the "intelligent" posters on here have been saying.

Get back to a balanced offense with power running and okay action. Allow Cam to use his skills as a QB. To stop trying to turn Cam into a RB.

But, there are still those on here who think Cam should be a RB disguised as a QB.

That being said, Cam must have built in run plays to keep the defense honest with their pass rush.

Troll? How dare you.

You don't like what I usually have to say because I am a Tar Heel and a Pirate and it's just in your nature to hate everything about UNC.

Like I've said about 100X in the college ball forum, you duke/state fans need to get over your visceral UNC hate because we all are bros pulling for the same NFL team.

Regarding the article, however, what I said is true and it's sad that media can just put a negative spin on athletes that they have some a personal vendetta against i.e. Peter King. That article that Charlotte's own Scott Fowler wrote about Cam charging for autographs at a licensed event really got under my skin. Even more so after it was picked up by several national media outlets. The Golden Calf of Bristol, who is a third the QB that Cam is, has done this and I've never heard it mentioned. As a collector, I have know problem dishing out $100 to be sure that a signed piece of memorabilia is authentic. The real dirtbags are the older man who bulldoze kids at signing events so they can get an autograph and sell it for profit on ebay. Not to mention, most if not all of the endorsement money made by pro athletes is more than likely donated to charity for a hefty tax write off.

Kobe Bryant said a few years ago that all pro sports are like pro wrestling. The media perception tries to build you up and tear you down.

It's all about ruffling the feathers of fans.

Who thinks that? Let's find out who they are so we can all laugh at them.

I've seen Cam make many throws that a lot of other QBs can't make.

I'm pretty sure Cam's breakout year was 2011.

this.

but.....it could be said that the best is yet to come and 2011 and the end of last year was only a glimpse of what is to come.

if he hasn't yet actually broken out....hold on to your hats.

Agree that he needs "some" running plays to keep the defense honest and exploit them.

But, Chud DID run him way too much early on last year.

true and they don't need to be scarce, either. they need to happen enough that defenses always have to be expecting it.

i don't think they should cut way back on his goal line carries, either. he's just too good at that. cutting back some would be wise, but just like everything else...the more he does it, the more defenses will be anticipating it and that only opens things up for other options (which should be used more than cam himself carrying the ball).

Actually, just the threat of Cam running accomplishes the same thing.

While the threat is equally as efficient at keep d-lineman and blitzers at bay, if Cam doesn't scramble some or run an option type play a few times a game we are missing on some serious home run opportunities.

Read option a couple times a game and scrambling when the pass protection breaks down is EXACTLY the amount that I would like to see next season.
