Zod

3rd and 2 ... Handoff to Deangelo....

Probably.

DWill's vision needs some work, but that's something that you can't teach.

What I was saying in preseason is that Barner's inexperience may be a plus here. No way does Barner hang around the line and pray for a hole to open up. Deangelo has that experience and will do that. Problem is, our line doesn't open holes.

If Barner sees those guys bunched together he automatically goes into road runner mode and heads for the sidelines, because he doesn't know any better yet.

But where is Cam? Most efficient first down maker in American football and he's not in any of these screen shots.

15 yards back not getting tackled.

I say it 5 times a game:

6 ft 5, 240 lbs QB and you don't give it to him on a short yardage play?

The Pats run a sneak with Brady every time. And it works just about every time

And we don't want to do it because.... REASONS!

PS: Williams fumbled twice on Sunday, so don't give me ball security BS.

remember in deangelo's rookie year when he tried to bounce it outside every play?

I don't think he would've gotten there, especially against a fast defense.

Totally agree.

Would have also helped to be run to the "long" side of the field.

Barner would have just kept trucking toward the 1st down marker instead of trying to move a D lineman with his legs.

Different series but I think it looked similar:

2nd and 2 at CAR 33 D.Williams right tackle to CAR 34 for 1 yard (T.McDaniel).

3rd and 1 at CAR 34 D.Williams left guard to CAR 34 for no gain (T.McDaniel).

Good to know that those two defenders Olsen was blocking were planning on just standing still and letting D-will run outside.

But where is Olsen's leverage on his block? Looks like the main guy is outside of Olsen to me.

I don't see this on D-Will as much as it looks like someone missed a guy since Olsen is having to block two guys.

Question 2... Does Barner cut it to the outside and get the first?

Very disappointed in you Zod.  This is like one of those political smear campaigns.  Or like a voice recording where you do editing to make a person sound guilty.

1. Olsen being in front of two people is not the same as blocking.  The one guy is just looking to shed Olsen depending on where Dwill goes.

2. Olsen is horrible at blocking.

3. Freeze frames don't actually depict the actual speed in which the play is occurring.

It's like Peter King and Charlie Casserly are running the show around here.

Why so angry?

That play was blown no matter what D-Will did in my opinion.

I do however agree that Cam needs to be involved in crucial short yardage situations.

2nd an 2 do what you want. On third down though we need more read option or QB designed runs.

This goes back to those people who always say "Cam padded his TD stats by not giving to ball to RBs"

No Cam had a lot of TDs because he is one of the best short yardage backs in football.
