Zod

I'm hearing RIvera is out if we lose Sunday.

If they're going to skip the OC/DC then why not promote Eric Washington? He has potential, IMO. Maybe not as the long-term answer as a HC, but maybe as a DC under the eventual new coach.

If this team kept a bad coach during the off season simply to fire him after 3 games it truly is one of the worst run organizations

JR gave Rivera a vote of confidence after a prolonged period of post season contemplation earlier this year.

Two games into the new season and JR is once again considering firing him?

I hope this rumor is not true, but if it is, JR is doing a great impersonation of Al Davis in his senile years.

I don't think it was a vote of confidence. More like a 2nd (or 3rd) chance, which Ron seems to be squandering.

I dunno what to think of Wilks being the interim HC...I mean he's the position coach of our worst position squad... I have nothing against him and by all accounts he's an excellent position coach, but outside of preseason he seems to have done nothing to mold the raw talent of Norman and none of our other DBs seem to have gotten any better either.  I know he doesn't exactly have superstar pieces to work with, but I'd like to see SOME improvement.

I coached offensive line for a high school for 3 years and was the DC for the JV. The high school team won most of their games and the JV team showed promise....I guess I am throwing my hat in the ring because I too have a stellar resume.

As the next head coach, I would have to go with the wishbone offense.  We have 2 decent fullbacks and 3 good running backs.   1 WR and a running QB.  Our line is weak, but the great thing about that is you read (don't block) one defensive linemen every play. Our linemen are good at that.

So, you see people, we are trying to run an NFL pro-set offense with wishbone personnel.

Championship.

So we're going to follow the Bucs' path to success with our own version of the Raheem Morriss years?  Sign me up! :)

Maybe Wilks will mix things up and put some dang excitement back into this team.

They look like a bunch of choir boys out there playing a lot of times.

For Jerry its a matter of $$$'s

If the Panthers lose on Sunday, they won't be able to give tickets away. With he nice weather coming up, families will be heading to the mountains, not to the stadium. There goes concession sales.

An interim coach has a chance to ignite some real interest and support. And if they do win, they have a chance to make a decent profit this season.

Do you honestly think Wilks could be worse at game strategy and management?

I'm leaning towards patty y on this. JR makes all the decisions, Gettleman is a figure head just like Hurney was. They get input on draft picks and so forth, but everything comes down to a final decision fron JR.

Gettleman being picked as the GM just showed that to be true still. The moves the team has made haven't changed since Hurney took over.

Take defense first in the draft, horde drafted rb's. lack of moves to improve the passing game and develop play makers for the qb.

Win or loose Rivera should be gone after this weekend. If he's still here after a loss it just shows that JR is still playing The Jones role for the Panthers.
