I remember back when i said even TY Hilton was better than Lafell, and they said i was wrong......welp.

Why is the huddle in the constant state of, " Hey look what I sad way back when, look how right I am now. " It's like a disease. It gets old.

I'd really like to retain Ginn.  His speed is surreal.  He's so smooth in his movements on the field.  He can literally run open.  I will really enjoy watching him the rest of the season.  I wouldn't be surprised if he posted career highs.

That being said, I'm not for dumping a TON of money on him.  Sure, be somewhat aggressive because I think he likes playing with Cam, but don't jeopardize the future (I think we're going to feel that a lot after the Hurney-lotto frenzy).  I'm glad Ginn's getting a chance to be a real WR, but don't give him too much money.  I don't think Ginn is a #1, especially after four games.  Let's talk in February...

If $50M is the number, then I hope it's someone else too.

If we can actually build this offense through the draft and surround our quarterback with talent without doling out those kinds of contracts, that would be a good start. We were already in cap hell from overpaying guys. Let's not go down that road again, it's not pretty.

For your previous post about drafting offense. We've added exactly one offensive starter since drafting Cam. Amini Silatolu. It's sad.

Even teams with failed young QBs have attempted to put pieces around the guy to give him a chance.  Minnesota drafted TE Kyle Rudolph in the 2cd round the year they picked Ponder.  Then they drafted Matt Kalil at LT #2 overall the year after, then this year they drafted WR Cordarrelle Patterson in the 1st round.  Jacksonville drafted WR Justin Blackmon #5 overall the year after they drafted Blaine Gabbert and then this year they took LT Luke Joekel #2 overall.

Since drafting Cam Newton, the Panthers have added a couple of small school project OGs, a couple of undrafted FA OTs, and a few bargain basement WRs.

this is the prime example of what i try to explain to some of the irrational on this board, the vikings know ponder isn't the answer at qb, you know why? because he sucks with a good o line, a HOF rb, and a Good receiving core.........Huddle logic Cam is the reason Cam sucks , even with our garbage o Line and our questionable receiving core besides smith and ginn, Cam is still putting up good numbers, good enough to get most teams in the Playoffs or at least a Winning record.

bottom line is if you wanna know if Cam is the answer or not Get this man some weapons and a oline that is decent then you'll have your answers he's done wonders with what we've got imagine if he had better.

Ginn needs to be more involved. He by himself isn't that great but he can be great in this offense. The problem isn't Steve or LaFell. Sure they dropped the ball in crucial times however we weren't moving the ball at all on several series. Seeing Ginn getting taken out and put on the sidelines is disheartening. He is what can make everyone else open.

I'm also pissed that we put so much faith in a guy like Armanti and we don't target him at all. If he sucks he sucks. But at least put your money where your mouth is and give him a chance to suck ass.

Also what about Brandon Williams, the potential stud? What do we have to lose in playing this guy? I'm sure he has a few routes down by now and throw him some passes.

How about the fact that Rivera makes Alexander inactive when he knows that Hardy can't go 100% due to illness?

Besides a cb and maybe a OLB(depending on how blackburn plays) I'm all for drafting offense pure offense, enough is enough the d is where it needs to be besides cb play, would not be mad if the draft started off OT,WR,OG or WR,OT,WR

your last part is another thing i questioned, even with him playing why activate Fua if you could just move hardy inside like last year on certain plays and Frank at de certainly better then giving fua any playing time whatsoever

Yup, offense, offense, and more offense. We'll have to draft two receivers. Throw in a TE too.

Yes, all of these things.  The only thing I sort of refute is that Smitty and LaFell aren't a problem.  Smitty shouldn't be a problem because we should've built a WR corps around him, but we didn't.  He's simply no longer a #1 WR.  LaFell is a problem at #2.  I defended him and held out hope, but the writing is on the wall at this time.  He should be a 4th or 5th WR.

All the other stuff, dead on the money.

I still disagree about Smith. I believe he can still play at a high level. He had 60yds which isn't being shut down at all. If he has that TD pass and refs don't cheat him out of that 15 yd catch that's an 80 yd game.

People just like to panic and say he's not good anymore because Peterson is the young stud who made a nice pick on an under thrown ball. Old Steve wouldn't have done anything different on that play.

I'm not saying LaFell is a #2 WR but the teams know what they have in him. We can all speculate how good he is on the forum but the Panthers know who the hell LaFell is. They don't have the excuse that he isn't a good enough #2 because they put him there. And if he's not we don't seem to be doing anything about it. We aren't getting other guys involved. Hell fuggin Barner didn't even get a carry yesterday.

I'm not saying Smith is no longer good, I'm simply saying he's no longer a guy who can single handedly carry the weight for the entire WR corps.  That's the role he's played nearly his entire career and he's just not up to it anymore.  He's even said so himself the last few years.

We haven't had a legit #2 WR in YEARS.  We haven't done poo about it.

smith is fine just like cam will be it's one bad game there human it will happen once in a while, dwill had one at the beginning of the season although not a bad game, along with luke against buffalo, no not a bad game by him but a crucial bad play.

the other guys like lafell, bell, fua, armond smith have consistently week in and out play bad but still get PT these are the guys who should be getting demoted

He only needs to average like 63 yards a game for a 1k season, which is pretty darn good for a 34 yr old.

Ginn and LaFell are both ok receivers, not superstars but both bring something to the table.  I say offer them both around the same as Jacoby Jones got 2yr 6.5 mil whichever takes the offer first gets to stay.  Or have them fight in the thunderdome for a contract...

Ginn has been ok but let's not carried away.

I think he's a great 4th or so WR to have given his PR/KR abilities.  We still basically need an entire receiving corps

Why would he resign when he's doing so well?
