Hardy can't touch Julius Peppers' jock strap in regards to taking over a game. 75% of Pep > 100% of the kraken. That's just the way I see it.

Anyway, to be honest, I get exactly what SMF is saying. No hate in wanting money, but you don't have to publicly obsess over it. It's not a good look no matter how you try and slice it.  I am old school. Contractual negotiations should be private, period. That's the professional way to handle the situation.

I scoff at the notion that Cam is going to follow the same path by his own mouth, or by proxy, That's not Newton's way.  In fact, Hardy's way may be the biggest "ode to greed" by an athlete that I've ever heard of, or it may just be that his modus operandi is a result of coming up in this "information age." Either way, he needs to be professional and handle his business behind doors.

Personally, I could give a fug at the end of the day because whether I believe Hardy is a greedy mutherfuger that represents all that's wrong with society or not, he's not throwing any dollars my way.  I just don't want him to get paid to the detriment of the whole team which is what I ultimately care about---the team. Hardy's public sentiment and G-man's public thoughts about the fiscal side of team building seem at odds with one another with no clear path to compromise in sight. If that's the case, then Hardy should just be mature about the situation and be real (i.e., outspoken) with the person that matters: Dave Gettleman. That is a more respectful way to handle your business. All this public stuff is not something that should be imitated or respected.

It's his personality, hate it or love it.  I love the guy and wish him the best but we can't afford to further cripple our financial situation to give hogwarts a monstarr contract.

Pepper greatness? Peppers was never great just flashes.

He is 25 years old. This will most likely be his biggest contract of his career.  Should he slow down on the chatter? Yes, but the man should be paid.

That was my thought. JP does not equal greatness.

If he ends up leaving then so be it, just not the Bucs or any team in the NFC. Off to the AFC and have a good life.

I really like how people turn on players when it looks like they won't be back.

I don't even care what happens with Greg anymore.  I just want it to be over one way or the other.....so we can start putting a plan together.

Under Fox I remember hearing nothing about Hardy except the untapped potential he'd never reach because he wouldn't work hard, couldn't get himself under control, etc. It wasn't until Rivera got a hold of him that he turned into the Kraken.

Stick him on a team like the Raiders and he'll revert.

How many of you guys would be bitching about not getting paid enough if you made $700,000 a year? Much less $700,000 a year over a 6 month work schedule.

It's all relative in the end. We can't compare our wants, desires, or financial requirements to NFL players and it seems like a lot of the one's making millions don't see it 'the normal way' either. In Greg's world he's severely underpaid. I really liked watching him bloom over the past few years and I like having him on our team. However at this point, like others have said, it doesn't matter. The money we save and the positions we can augment because of it, plus the work we can do in the draft will continue to make us a more balanced team. I believe that our DE rotation will find some one to step up across from CJ. I also believe that we will be able to find another young guy to start grooming this summer. This next batch will be better because hopefully once the next guy comes into his prime, CJ will be wrapping up and then we can sign the next guy to a good deal and hopefully from then on have an even DE payload.

It's all about the cycle and we're getting close to finding the right groove.

Wherever Greg ends up, we need a new young OT who can negate him and hopefully we'll have one this summer.
