DG to Jones: "We appreciate your enthusiasm to be a Panther, we really do. But it is my belief that a better situation awaits you in Tampa Bay."

Hope DG gives his agent a call, if he hasn't already.

Very athletic wide receiver. He would create space.... Getting him is better than resigning LaFell

Dave Gettleman reported to be "indignant" that James Jones feels he could be a better option than the "answers which are already on our roster."

James Jones and Jericho Cotchery + a rookie wideout would turn your current dearth of talent at receiver into a solid unit as far as starters go.  Would have to hope they all stayed healthy though.  Wouldn't really want Cotchery or Jones to be the #1 if at all possible though so I would go after a receiver with starter potential on the outside and let Cotchery handle slot duties.  Martavis Bryant from Clemson would do the trick.  Most project him 2-3 round wise.

Both he and Cotchery wear 89. Ironic. But yeah, nobody should ever wear 89 again.

Doubt we have the cap space for him, but I wouldn't mind trying him out.  I'm guessing what he thinks he's worth, and what GM's think he's worth are pretty far apart.

He will be 30 this year, so I don't want to see anything more than a 2-3 year deal.
