That's not to say Tech cant or hasn't had talent. Like I said earlier UVA was the definition or mediocre in the ACC until the past two years. I remember Tech having the kid transfer when Seth got fired and he went to Louisville. Erik Green wasn't bad either although he seems to not be able to get out of the D league. They've had taken in the past, Dell Curry, Bimbo Coles, and Allen Bristow.
I'd be happy if tech would just develop a consistent program. Not UNC or Duke just a program that can win more than 10 games.
Correct. Harrell was signed and was then granted release once Greenberg was fired.
Vcu has three guys signed. Every single one of them had an offer from va tech and turned it down. No one else in state made an offer to your prize recruit
He is still rated higher than any of VCU's or UVA's commits and a top 50 player nationally and Tech had a class ranked higher than VCU's and UVA's. It doesn't really matter though, VCU will get their guys, UVA will get their guys, and hopefully Tech will be able to get their guys which so far under Buzz they have been able too. All in all, Tech is in the middle of the rebuilding process and hopefully we will be able to compete in the ACC sooner rather than later. We are extremely young, so our players should only get better. We still are in desperate need for at least 1 or 2 more competent big men, though.
Clarke had offers from UConn and Florida among a ton of others which carries much more weight than a VCU offer but like I said it really doesn't matter who offers who.
Don't agree. Any major talent that wants to stay in state is going to want to go to uva or even vcu over va tech. No nation wide major talent is going to Blacksburg
We have the top rated player in Virginia in the 2015 class. Blacksburg isn't that bad at all either. Much better college town than Richmond (I have lived in Richmond my whole life, I would know) and about on the same level as Charlottesville.
Buzz is a great recruiter too.
They played way above their heads last night. 60+ % from three. They simply don't have the players. I don't think that's going to change anytime soon with as well as uva is playing right now.
May not have the players now but will should improve significantly into the coming years. Obviously not on top tier level like Duke or UNC but should be good enough to compete. UVA being good has absolutely nothing to do with how good or bad we can be. Nothing. Two straight top 25 classes is pretty dang good compared to where we were with the old coach.
