In Topic: Over The Cap weighs in on Hardy FT, Smitty

I see what overthecap is saying, it's hard to act, talk, and restructure like you're in cap hell then turn around and give up half of your available space to one player leaving 20 others to sign.

I realize the future looks brighter with Beason's dead money expiring and the cap is expected to keep rising, but in the present it's hard to justify. For that reason I don't think this is the last we've heard of Hardy news. At the very least expect more restructures or cuts especially if Hardy is expected to stay on the tag.

This is not any different than what we've heard before, take the dead money out of the 28M we are left with 13-16M. No where in that piece did it say the 28M is what we have to "play" with.

So we had a Nicks on our roster but rarely played him? Seems like there is always a Manning, Brady, or Favre in every draft too.

I've watched the game quite a few times. I see it differently. You can't get into passing situations against Seattle or SF, you have to keep them honest. Most offenses cant handle their combo of pass rushers and coverage. Look what happened when we were down by two scores late in the 4th against SF, Cam was straight up harassed. We have to get our running game better this year and for that reason we have the following priority for the offseason:

1 Oline
2 DB
3 WR

I only put DB ahead of WR because obviously D wins championships.

Lafell caught 56% of the balls thrown to him. This tops Gordon, Green, Jackson, and Johnson. This according to KFFL. Do we need to upgrade the WR for the future, yes. Is that our top problem on Offense, no.
