#2652226 "Aid in Dying" Movement: Thoughts

It's a complex and emotional decision that should be left in the hands of the relatives and health care professionals, not the government.

#2646567 J Stew tweets he's heading to Beech Mountain

Posted by Delhommey on 08 February 2014 - 05:23 AM

Assuming he's going to ski. Now, personally I don't care. But for an oft injured back that will kill our salary cap over the next few years, aren't you saying slow the fug down if you're the Panthers? If I had that kind of money invested in a back that just missed 90% of the season I'd question his decision making if he put on a pair of skis.

Here is the tweet

@Jonathanstewar1: Anyone live in Boone NC made a stop at Cracker Barrel to eat on my way to beech mountain!

I heard Cam Newton was maybe in a grocery store containing an aisle with a wet floor...

For every insurance of someone actually killing an perpetrator there will be 100s of instances where simply pointing a gun at someone will diffuse the situation. And 99% of those instances go unreported.

Probably cause they mostly happen in the minds of gun junkies while mastrabating.

Then they should also make anyone who consumes alcohol pay for expensive drinkers insurance. That way victims of drunk drivers will be covered.

Or they could use, you know, liability insurance on cars.

You're really bad at this.

So you are saying you do not allow your child near a motor vehicle? Because playing the odds, he's more likely to be slaughtered by a drunk driver or any automobile accident than killed by an accidental shooting.

Cause let's be honest, if you didn't have a car, the child would have just ridden a gun to school.

Before we go all crazy, that 3 year old could have just as easily killed the 17 month old with a can opener. Are you guys suggesting that we ban all can openers?

And that, sir, is the reason they are failing.

#2644107 The Right-Wing Economic Argument in a Nutshell?

Posted by Delhommey on 05 February 2014 - 10:37 PM

Economic inequality is a bogeyman that feeds on people's hatred and jealousy of neo-liberalism.

If at any time you are disturbed that someone else makes as much in a second as you make in a year, then you are literally what is wrong with America.

I don't mind someone making more money than I do. I do mind it when they're taking it from me.

Link to study please.

Not about the Olympics. That I have seen.

There's about 7 linked already.

Poor minorities may be ripping off the country for millions- Mad Hatter "LAZY PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HANDOUTS ARE RUINING THIS COUNTRY BAAAAHHHHHHHH"

Rich white guys ripping us off for billions- Mad Hatter "Well, I'd need to see the numbers. I mean who knows what exactly blahblahblah"

#2643426 The NFL - Welfare Queens?

“The NFL is good at fleecing taxpayers,” says ESPN columnist Gregg Easterbrook, author of The King of Sports: Football’s Impact on America. “It’s about a billion dollars a year I’ve calculated in public subsidies to NFL owners and this is a group that consists almost entirely of billionaires and yet receiving significant public subsidies every year.”

The NFL raked in over $9 billion in revenues last season and the league is pushing team owners to triple that mark over the next decade.

With the league’s overwhelming success, many cities are eager to get a piece of the action, often offering billions in public subsidies to attract (or keep) football in their localities.

But with the NFL making record profits, is it right for cities to spend public money on these type of projects? Especially when over half of NFL team owners are ranked on the Forbes billionaire list?

With schools crumbling and roads and bridges falling apart, is this really what we want to shovel our tax dollars into? And why should we in the first place, when they're making record profits?

I believe there is something bigger and greater than all of us, vastly larger and more powerful than we can even comprehend.

It's called the universe.

We are entirely much too complex of an organism to have stemmed from utter randomness and chance.

Classic Survivorship Bias. You have no idea how many creatures, how many planets, how many solar systems, how many galaxies, how many universes failed.

Everything's a guess, therefore peer reviewed research and double blind testing done in a regulated lab is worthless!

Yes you can replicated your results, but GOD.

#2641967 The Left-Wing Economic Argument in a Nutshell?

Posted by Delhommey on 04 February 2014 - 09:50 AM

Why is it that lef-wingers have forgotten many of the core values from the past....hard work, personal accountability, etc.

In the past, you worked hard or you starved. Today, just put out that hand and the gov't will take care of you.

In the form of generous tax breaks to corporations, reduction of taxes that mainly affect the wealthy, and trillions of dollars of free bailouts, all while increasing the tax burden on labor.

Let's not mention how the government looks the other way while monopolies are recreated and business collude to keep wages low.

Conservatives are all about wealth redistribution: from the poor and middle class to the wealthy "job creators" who are more deserving of the wealth, you see.
