#3245756 Vikings GM; We expect AP to return. What universe is domestic abuse worse tha...

If I'm being absolutely honest what AP did is in many cultures considered discipline.  And that goes across ALL races.  Granted it seems he went to far but whoopings are a thing that I would say 75% of children deal(t) with, including myself.  Any whooping I got was one that I saw coming and could've avoided had I behaved as I had been warned.  If my parents had told me "they would punish me by taking away a game" I would definitely have rebelled.
This is SPECIFICALLY in regards to whoopings to try to raise a kid. Not closed fist punching/ slamming children and taking anger out on them.

Hitting a woman is inexcusable.

In all honestly society has got way to soft. That's why so many kids get away with what they want into today world. There is a fine line between abuse and whooping a child because they did wrong. Balling up your fist and punching the child of slamming them against the wall and other things like that is abuse. But using a switch or belt on them is not. Unless that whooping goes to far. But come on I got whipped with a switch when I was growing up and it left red lines across the back of my leg. But I don't see it as abuse. To many people in society today have to many opinions on how people should raise their kids. People should mind their own business. If there is abuse report it and let police deal with. They shouldn't even put this kind of stuff on tv. It should handle better then it does in today society to be honest.

Is it just me? Am I crazy? But isn't child abuse way worse than domestic abuse? Not downplaying domestic abuse at all but in my mind child abuse is way worse. Vikings brass are smart in not letting a player of AP's caliber walk. Hardy should be welcomed back here also.

In my opinion no. Any kind of abuse whether it is child or adult is the same. I don't understand why society wants to put all different abuse on different levels on for kids or adults. Abuse is abuse. It's all terrible and it happens. But putting it on different levels is stupid. But what the law does to AP is up to them and not up to us. Besides why are we talking about this. This is about football not abuse class.

Luke saved our butts today big time no doubt. Hope he keeps it up next week and beyond to the SB.

DG better give this kid a long term contract this off season. If Norman plays this good next year or better. He will asking for huge contract like Hardy was asking. Then we will lose him as well. DG better get on the ball about signing Norman long term this off season. While we can get Norman on 5-6 deal worth 50 mill and 30 mill of it gtd.

Dave and Ron are the problem

BS!! Dave has been here for only 2 full seasons and has done one hell of a job balancing our cap and give us something to work with until we get out of cap hell. I swear people want to blame everyone. DG hasn't been give a chance to do anything really with this cap. But if your so unhappy with him. Then we can bring back Hurney. Hurney can do a much better job I guess. Get off of DG nuts and give him a chance. But Ron on the other hand can't do crap in 4 years. One lucky 12-4 season and then the next season this team is in the dump. Ron is the real reason. He hasn't shown he can keep winning. He must go.

#3074671 Teams that would "break the bank" for Cam Newton....

Posted by Pantherman on 09 November 2014 - 08:09 PM

Dear OP, Cam isn't going no where. DG will resign him long term soon. JR would not waste a first round pick on Cam just to allow him to walk. Cam is going to sign and will be happy with this team. Yes this team is in cap hell for now. But it will change and we will start getting Cam some protection this off season. I'm sure DG knows Cam needs the help on the oline and he will get it for him. People Cam is staying for long time to come. Point blank. It would the dumbest move if DG let Cam walk after next season. DG ain't that dumb. Cam is a Panther for years to come. Plain and simple.

#3045500 Does Cam deserve "the contract" based on this season?

Posted by Pantherman on 26 October 2014 - 03:21 PM

You would think with this franchise having to deal with Weinke, (The Bad years of) Delhomme, Carr and Clausen we would be appreciative of having an elite or on the cusp of elite QB.  But that would just make too much sense.

Jake Delhomme bad years? Dude what games was you watching all of those years. Jake was the one who took this team to a SB and almost won it. A long with his team mates help of course. The only time Delhomme starting to get bad was after his elbow gave out on him during that Falcons game. After that his throwing wasn't never the same. But before that Delhomme was a good QB. Dude you think again about Jake.

Shula bad play calling and the oline can't block for crap. Your blaming Cam because he has no time to throw in the pocket and he has to scramble for his life. Some people are dumb as bricks on here. Stop blaming Cam. Blame Shula and the oline.

#3016683 What Happened to Whittaker?

Posted by Pantherman on 12 October 2014 - 05:17 PM

We started throwing the ball. Our OL is also trash, so anything he did in the first half couldn't really be expected in the second.

Dude really!! Do you even watch the game. Oline played well today and Fozzy ran good until he got hurt again. Think before you speak.

Fozzy got hurt in the second quarter.

#2984971 Our offensive line, to paraphrase Randy Moss, is...

Posted by Pantherman on 28 September 2014 - 04:02 PM

As of right now and I'm telling you this. Right now without any good RBs and a oline that blows to high heaven. Cam and KB is lighting it up. If DG would put our first 3 picks on a few tackles and a guard. Then maybe sign a Vet tackle this off season. Then get a few new RBs can stay healthy. Cam and KB could easly be the most dangerous QB/WR combo in the league next year. But that is if DG invest in the offense a lot more this off season. Offense is key this off season for DG.

#2975659 Should we trade for Claiborne?

Posted by Pantherman on 23 September 2014 - 11:05 PM

Right now Morris lost his starting job and has walk out on the Cowboys. Cowboys owner doesn't think Claiborne have no trade value. I say the Panthers  should give a 7th for Morris  and give him a chance. Low pick with low risk. http://www.nfl.com/n...-after-benching

#2939831 The Observer: Panthers Should Suspend Hardy Now

Posted by Pantherman on 09 September 2014 - 05:33 PM

WOW! Judge a man with no proof. This is only a He said She said type of debate. Why suspend the guy before he is guilty before a jury. So but totally disagree with this. To many people now days want to judge a person before they are found guilty. Let the man have his day in court before we ruin his career and life. Smh!! And how come the public can slam Christians for telling a another person that is gay is wrong against God. But yet these same people can go Judge a guy like Hardy for something he might have done or might not have done. It's all about the proof. People jump to concluison to quickly.

#2920534 JJ Watts gets 6yr 100 million contract!

Posted by Pantherman on 02 September 2014 - 03:34 AM

It doesn't matter if he gets 20 sacks this season, the Panthers are letting Hardy walk. They wouldn't have even franchised him had they known this domestic abuse case would've followed.

Really? When did you be come the new GM of the Panthers? Nice to meet you. Plan on resigning Newton during the season? And frankly you are judging Hardy before he gets into court and in front of a jury. I'm sure if Hardy is not found guilty by the jury. Then the Panther will do their best to resign Hardy if they can afford it and if the price it right. Stop getting a head of yourself. We don't know what the out come of Hardy verdict is and if DG will let him go or not. Unless you have some inside info the rest of us don't.
