#2449281 The last 11 Games:

Good teams beat Bad teams. Our games against quality opponents have been contestable and sometimes unlucky though losses. Just gotta build on it and continue to learn from it. The fact that we don't keep the score close against bad teams is a major bright spot. Good to see we are able to maintain consistent play and outclass opponents instead of playing down to them.

#2393885 Very interesting offensive changes

Last few years, we've had a suspect defense who couldn't get us the ball back if Cam made a mistake. I think it's kind of too early to tell just yet, but our defense looks promising so far and it should allow us to Unleash Cam and allow us to be more aggressive. We'll see though.

#2329572 Internet Bottlenecks

I'm not sure if this is exactly your issue but internet throttling is a huge issue lately. Especially if you play League of Legends.. This thread kind of explains some of it..

tl;dr there's diff types of ISPs and there's a disagreement between them and they're being shitheads and giving bad service until someone gives in and pays extra money. It's not necessarily just Comcast either.

I'm one of the many people who have this problem with really good internet but I can't play a game I like without huge ass lag spikes (500ms up to 16000ms lag spikes). Packet shaping ftl.

I've been using http://www.internethealthreport.com/ to check and see when a good time to play would be.

Fun Facts:

NFC South Finished with 3 teams at 7-9.
NO swept TB
TB swept CAR
CAR swept NO

Each team in the NFC South has a 3-3 Division record. Division leader ATL swept no one.

#2009199 What games are you getting for Black Friday?

Posted by Seamonk on 19 November 2012 - 10:55 PM

I usually go to get 1 thing that I want the most.. Surprisingly the lines here are not that long and I can usually get what I want. Not sure If I'll shoot for any games this year though. My eye is on a tv and those are usually the first to go and hot items.. Let's hope I can get one..

I also think our DTs did some good work to allow CJ and Hardy to run 1v1s. Commentators said skins had to double each tackle near the end of the game. Probably re-confirms why we missed Dwan so much last week. Our line is feeling it right now and they're bringing it.

#1922025 A lot of talk about CAM

Posted by Seamonk on 27 September 2012 - 10:15 AM

Cam will be fine as long as he's allowed to sling the ball. Defense needs to go for Turnovers because they aren't stopping anyone otherwise. Green Bay's defense was usually heralded as pretty good during their superbowl year, but they were getting turnovers. They weren't real good at stopping offenses, but good at helping out their own. Same with the saints, same with the giants. Defenses are no longer capable of shutting down all offenses. You have to find ways to help your own. That allows your Offense to make mistakes and puts pressure on the other.

Cam will be fine. He will continue to grow. Growth is important.

#1856985 Pass Coverage, Run Defense & ST Coverage will hold Panthers down again

Good defenses aren't necessarily filled with all-pros. Just need a group that works well together and know when and how to make a play. Our guys are still trying to find their chemistry together. That's why injuries hurt so much.

#1818481 Just bought a PC need help with buying monitor.

Posted by Seamonk on 04 July 2012 - 06:21 PM

I think there's some confusion here. So I'll tell you the difference between Normal LCDs, LED LCDs, LED Displays and OLED Displays.

LED TVs and Monitors are still LCDs. Regular LCDs use fluorescent lighting for the backlighting. LED LCDs use LED lighting. The Backlighting is what creates the contrast and powers the image to your eyes.
More info..

Actual LED displays which only use LEDs for the imaging AND the lighting are for HUGE displays like the big screen at BoA.
More Info

OLED Displays are probably the one Ivan is referring to. "Organic" LED. Using bioluminescence to create ultra small patches of LEDs. It's the one that's pure tiny LEDs. These are usually found in phone(AMOLED) in portable appliances although there's been some use in displays. I'm not sure but I think I've seen a monitor or some sort of display with it before.
More info...

All in all, the technologies are really different but of course whenever they market it, they have to make it confusing and sound similar. The odds that the marketed "LED Monitor" is actually an LED Backlit LCD is pretty high. For example...

All of the above in the spoiler are marketed as LED Monitor. But they are LCD panels with LED backlighting.

When I search for OLED on newegg, I get a bunch of portable devices like mp3 players, PS Vita, even some cameras.

So TL;DR version,

LED Monitor refers to LCD with LED Backlighting
LCD is Fluorescent Backlighting
Large Displays may use individual LED bulbs
OLED displays are still relatively new and are usually found in portable devices.
