#2449839 Time to ger Hardy a new contract.

Posted by micnificent28 on 25 October 2013 - 09:43 AM

He turned down a good contract, as far as production he's been beasting but take away that giants game and he doesn't deserve more then he's been offered or at least we can't afford that.

You can't take away games tho. Production is production. He deserves whatever he can get out there. I would love to resign him but I'm not letting cam walk to do it. Lets just hope gman squeeze a few pennies and make it happen for both.

#2449751 At 4-3 the Panthers could move to the next level with a trade.

I honestly like the WRs we have on the team.

You only like them because were winning. Those drops by ginn and lafell will cost us a game against good teams (buffalo anyone?)and shouldn't be overlooked. Make no mistake our wrs aren't good by any measure. Once we play a good team pats sf reality will return.

God I'm going to be sick. I hate player fans.

Who wouldnt be a fan of it's teams winning quarterback.

#2445273 Cam Newton Our Franchise QB?

Posted by micnificent28 on 24 October 2013 - 07:22 AM

Just stop it. You guys act like franchise qbs grow on trees. He's proven enuff that he is one of the top 32 qbs in the world right now. There are teams (the rams) calling brett farve and signing brady quinn. I repeat Brett Favre.

#2444445 Blackmon available for trade? EDIT: blackmon suspended for season

Posted by micnificent28 on 23 October 2013 - 03:57 PM

Boy, is it a good thing that fans have no say in running the team.

We've got people on here ready to throw high draft picks at pretty much any team trying to get rid of any unwanted player, no matter why they're on the outs.

If some folks got their way, come April we'd have no picks left. Meanwhile, professionals within not just the Panther organization, but those of several other teams are saying "eeeeehhh, no". Yet fans on here scream that the unwillingness to spend high picks to acquire damaged goods shows the team either has no clue or doesn't care about winning.

Sheesh :(

Mind you, there is one NFL owner who's shown a willingness to trade away picks that almost rivals that of the fans. Who, you ask? That'd be Daniel Snyder.

Sadly, that approach hasn't brought a Lombardi back to DC.

But I'm sure it will eventually, right?

And what exactly would you do nothing? Sit and hope we draft another amini or armanti with our picks in the second or our third round pick? The fact is this team has done a poor job selecting talent past the first round anyway. Would it really be any worse to select a troubled but proven player? Just because mistakes have been made doesn't mean he will keep repeating those mistakes. Being afraid of your own shadow is not how you build a winning franchise.Sometimes it works out like for the patriots and moss sometimes it doesn't.  Buying a Lomardi would be signing a bunch of free agents but trading for one player isn't going to make or break the franchise. Adding another possible piece to help our qb this season wouldn't be the worst thing gettleman could do. No one is saying trade a first rounder for him,but anything beyond that is fine with me. You seem to come in at the same angle on anytype of player and sit on the fence a wait and see type. Tell me how that's been working out and how it's been helping the panthers? Because that's the route they generally take. How is doing nothing better than getting a proven player?

It's amazing the play it safe conservative views of this board. Play it safe for what? Undo what? A team that Is .500 for the first time since 2008 under a lame duck coach? Really what damage could he possibly do? We've been playing it safe and reaping no benefits for years. Meanwhile the risk takers like the bengals rise to relevance strike gold (burfict) patriots (dennard)rams (jenkins). Every kid thay hits a bump in the road isn't rae curruth.

#2432979 Thank God Tavon never made it to pick 14

Posted by micnificent28 on 18 October 2013 - 05:21 AM

I was so happy when the Rams drafted this guy before he ever made it to our pick.  I did not want him then and exactly how I felt about him is coming true.   We'll see if he bulks up and becomes something but I am betting they got our version of Joe Adams.

I said back then that this guy was going to be someone just like Joe Adams.

Similar skillset but too damn small to make a difference.

Austin's size and power limitations have left the onus on offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer to scheme ways to get the ball in Austin's hands in space.

First of all he is not Joe Adams, Dissapointing as he maybe, joe never returned a punt or kick tayvon has(or did it get called back?) Tayvon isnt a project at wr and has 2 touchdown catches on the season. Something Joe hasn't managed in his career. Did joe even catch a pass?  I'm glad we took star but, don't compare first round talents to some guy we reach for in the 4th.

#2413293 Teddy Bridgewater

Posted by micnificent28 on 06 October 2013 - 06:53 PM

Cam threw a few bone headed pics, but he gad almost no help from anyone. I still say cam is a franchise qb and to question that without giving him weapons is a bad ca on anyone.

Sad to see him go. He embodies everything I think a panther should be. Great player better man.

#2405712 Barner's Impact Against Arizona

Posted by micnificent28 on 02 October 2013 - 02:10 PM

I think were to optimistic about barner. We haven't seen him do anything out the ordinary in a real game. Lets temper these exspectations we have of him for a while. The hype this guy gets you would think we drafted him in the first round.

#2401939 Bradley Roby - CB Ohio State

good luck landing Roby if your not picking top 5.

Wow all the people who said ron has to go last week have sudden morphed into oh i love ron and he should get another chance. No he still doesn't bring anything special to the game and all he did this week was play with a fire for self preservation. Win or get fired and he played to win. We'll see who shows up after the bye.

This guy should not get out of this week without taking his share of the blame. He may never be the same. I never saw him making so many bad plays, get him out of there coach.
